Chapter 16: Next To You

I walked upstairs into Ash's bedroom and laid on the bed. I was closing my eyes until my phone went off. The caller ID said Dad. Why was he calling me? Doesn't he have a wife to take care of?

I rolled my eyes and grabbed a pillow to scream into. I let my phone go to voicemail and he actually left one. The only problem was I was scared to listen to it.

Ash walked in the room looking furious! He walked into the bathroom and slammed the door. What the hell is his problem!?

I got up from the bed putting on black yoga pants with a white t-shirt and rolled up the sleeves. I looked in the mirror and I wasn't going to lie my butt looked really good.

Ash came out if the bathroom shirtless and walked to his bed ignoring me. I laid next to him and put my arm around his waist but he removed my arm. My heart sunk as he got up from the bed. I sat up putting my knees up to me. Well that's kind of embarrassing. I put a piece of hair behind my ear and looked at my knees.

Should I say something or let him speak? We seemed perfectly fine before his mom talked to him. After a really long time of a really awkward silence I decided to speak.

"Are you okay?" He didn't reply, pretty much ignored me.

"Okayy then." I added.

"Adri is there something your not telling me?" He said without looking at me.

"No? Why?"

"Adri please don't lie to me."

"Ash I don't know what you're talking about."

"Why didn't you tell me Erica and Danielle jumped you?"

Oh my god! How did he find out!?

"W-what? I-I don't know what your talking about."

"Adri, my brothers heard them talking about it at the game. They told my mom and that's why my mom wanted to talk to me." My eyes started tearing up.

He finally turned around to look at me.

"I didn't know how to tell you. I didn't want you to be mad at me."

"Adri how would I be mad at you?!"

"Because, Danielle is your best friend." I said in a lower voice almost a whisper but I knew he heard me.

He came closer to me sitting next to me on the bed and he cupped my face while using his thumbs to wipe away some of my tears.

"I was scared." that's when I couldn't stop the tears remembering what had happened to me that night. Ash pulled me into his arms and didn't let go. He let me cry and cry. It was the first time I felt like I didn't have to hold anything in. I let all my emotions go, everything felt like it was going to be okay for once.

"She told me that I had to stay away from you." I chocked out.

"Nothing will ever come between us cause i'll be right next to you." He whispered in my ear. He suddenly placed his soft lips on mine and pulled away to fast for my liking.

"I have an idea." He said with a huge smile. I would look at him all day if I could.

"What is it?"

"Wanna build a fort?"

"I thought your mom said we couldn't sleep in the same bed?"

"Technically were not in a bed, we're on the floor." he said winking at me and I couldn't help but laugh. He began to stare at me and I I felt a little insecure.

"Is there mascara all over my face?"

"No! it's just that I barley get to see you laugh and I love your laugh." Is my hearing correct? When I realized why he said I couldn't help but blush.
