Someone we worked with had just moved to our area. We all detested the kid. Ryan knew where the guy lived, and mentioned it. Our coworker, Candace, said she didn't know a house has been for sale in that location.

Having moved four times in my life, I knew about such things. I blurted out  something about how sales on houses can take months to go through, and since Candace hadn't been looking for it she probably wouldn't have noticed a 'for sale' sign in front of the house.

My response was met with silence, and I got embarrassed. But he leaned over to me and said I was really intelligent. He was blown away. He wanted to know how I knew about that. I told him how much I'd moved. He said that the fact I even knew that proved I was 'super smart.'

Clearly not smart enough to stay away.
