I finally got up the nerve to ask him if he was going to the employee pool party. He asked what time it was. I told him eight, right after we closed the pool and got all the guests out.He said he was going.
I asked why his name wasn't on the sign up list?
He said that date was his mom's birthday.
I informed him that maybe he should stay home with her, but my stomach sank as I said it. I wanted him there, at the party.
He told me they wouldn't be celebrating that late at night anyway. Besides, he wanted to come. Because I'd be there.
I couldn't believe he said that to me. My heart soared.
He's such a damn liar.
