I can remember my last day of laughter that summer. Yeah, I know right? Our short but sweet love story is about to fall to pieces. But we aren't at that point yet.

I can't remember what I was writing about.

Oh yeah, laughter.

That's not really a familiar feeling anymore.

Anyway, me and Ryan were at McDonalds with another staff member, Andy, and Andys two friends.

I don't remember what it was I said, something to roast Andy probably.

But it made Ryan laugh. And consequently, the sun came out from behind the clouds, rainbows sparkled and all was well.

I laughed too, but moments later my stomach knotted and my heart skipped a beat, and my chest filled with that warm, expanding feeling that is so hard to describe but you always get when you're with the person you've fallen in love with. That feeling.

Ryan was laughing so hard that he had to lean on me for support. He bent down and rested his forehead on my shoulder, making my whole arm go numb and my whole body tickle.

I slowly reached up with my hand and patted his cheek, leaning my head against his while we laughed.

I don't get any of those feelings anymore.
