A New Family

Chapter 8

I pull up at Crackle Barrel. I get Haylee out and we go in. They show us our table and we sit down. "What can I start you out to drink with?" The waiter asks. "I want a Coke and a Dr. Pepper." I say and he walks off.

"Daddy can we go to Uncle Blake and Aunt Miranda's house today?" Haylee asks me. "Sure. After we eat." I say and the waiter comes back. He hands us our drinks and takes our order. "I want two pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, and grits please." Haylee says. I laugh and order the same thing. If anything this kid can eat.

I look out the window. Man I love Leesburg. Its beautiful. I look back and see the waiter brought our food back. "Baby girl say grace." I tell her and she nods. I take her hand and we close our eyes. "God is great god is good, Let us thank him for our food. Bow our heads, we are fed, thank you lord for daily bread, Amen." She says and we eat.

**At Blake and Miranda's**

I get Haylee out and sit her down. Blake and Miranda were standing outside waiting on us. She runs to Blake and he picks her up. All my buddies love her and she loves them. I smile and shut the door. I walk over to Miranda and hug her. "Have y'all have breakfast?" Blake asks me. "Yes." I simply say and we go inside. "Haylee come here." Miranda says and gets Haylee from Blake. She walks off somewhere.

"How you and Haylee been doing?" Blake asks me. "Well her actual dad came by yesterday and said he came to get Haylee back." I say to him and his eyes widen. "Yep I know." I say and Miranda comes back with Haylee. "What did you do?" Blake asks Miranda. "Oh nothing I just put a little make up on her and we talked." She says. "Y'all getting my baby girl started on make up TOO early." I say and they laugh. Miranda sits Haylee down. She walks over to me and sits in my lap.

God I'm gonna have to be VERY protective over her when she's in high school. My baby girl is gorgeous. She starts pre-school in a week and that week I begin recording some new songs. I'm gonna miss my baby girl. "Hey Luke!" Blake knocks me out of my thoughts. "Uh what?"

"Haylee wants to stay the night. Can she?" Miranda says then asks. "Please please please daddy. I'll behave. Please?" Haylee begs and gives me the puppy dog face. You can't say no to it. "I guess so. Y'all still have some of her clothes over here right?" I say and then ask. Blake and Miranda nod.

Miranda's POV

I pick Haylee up again and take her to mine and Blakes room. "Sweetie you wanna go swimming?" I ask her and she nods. "Where?" She asks me. "Umm the pond that don't have the fish in it." I say and get one of Blake's shirts for her. "Close your eyes." She says. I laugh and close them so she can change. "All done." She says and I laugh. She smiles and puts her hands on her hips like a super hero after he saved somebody. "God your one crazy little girl." I say and pick her up. "Just like my daddy she says and puts her head on my shoulder. I get to the bottom of the stairs and see Blake and Luke wrestling on the floor. "What is this? WWE?" I yell and sit Haylee down. She runs to the back door and tries to slid it open. "Come on kiddo." I say and head down to the pond.
