(Astrid's POV)
As soon as Heather and Ruffnut heard that Hiccup and I were engaged, they instantly offered to help me with the wedding plans. We met at my house to plan.
"I can bake a wedding cake!" Heather suggested, "And make invitations!"
"And I can help with decorations!" Ruffnut exclaimed,"Oooh and do your hair!"
"Well, hold on, first things first, if I'm having a wedding I'll need a dress." I smiled.
The two of them wasted no time. They got to work right away, sketching their ideas for my wedding dress. I decided to sketch a few designs as well.
Heather drew a long white strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and pleated skirt. I liked it, but it was too simple. It just needed something else, something sparkly, something that screamed 'me'.
Ruff's design was completely different. It was a puffy ballgown with long sleeves that flared out at the bottom. The dress was covered in so many bows, I think I'd drown in them as I'm walking down the isle. Too complicated. Not my style.
I showed them my sketch. I had drawn a dress with a simple white skirt, like the one Heather had drawn, but instead of stopping at floor length, I extended it so fabric would pool around me. I also added a pale blue ombré effect at the bottom of the skirt. I wanted to incorporate my favourite colour in there somehow and I figured that was the best way to do it. It had long sleeves like Ruff's, except my sleeves were lace, and instead of flared, they were tight. It was a beautiful mix of simple and dramatic. The dramatic lace sleeves add just the perfect amount of edginess to the dress and the way the bottom fans out on the floor adds softness. It was my personality put into a dress.

"It's perfect!" Heather's eyes widened and she smiled

"It's perfect!" Heather's eyes widened and she smiled.
"Wow!" Ruffnut held up my sketch to the light, "I love it!"
"I combined both of your ideas and then added a few personal touches." I beamed.
Now we would have to sew it. None of us are very good at sewing. Luckily, I knew someone who was.
Valka happily agreed to help us with the dress. Pretty soon, the four of us were sitting around a table, each working to sew a different part of my dress.
"I'm so happy that you're marrying my son!" Valka brushed my shoulder, "He couldn't have picked a better wife."
"Awe thank you Valka," I said, "I'm overjoyed to get to become a part of the Haddock family."
Valka and I get along quite well. We're similar. Both brave and strong. And she's a great mother, a trait I aspire to have in the future.
I do the best I can to finish my part of the dress. Sewing isn't the easiest task, but luckily, Valka is there to give us a few tips and check on us every few minutes. After a few hours, she's finished the entire top half of the dress. Ruffnut, Heather, and I have been working together on the skirt, but only get half way done. Valka offers to quickly finish it up.
"You should try it on, Astrid!" She says once she's done.
With the help of Ruffnut and Heather, I manage to get the dress on.
"Woah!" Ruffnut stares.
Heather gives a nod of approval.
I smile. My wedding dress is beautiful! It fits perfectly! The lace sleeves are just right against my arms and the skirt fits tight along my body, then fans out at the bottom. It's just how I'd hoped it'd be! I couldn't be happier!
