[Killua]

I left the building in silence with no one but myself

After walking a full 5 minutes in a neighborhood, I suddenly heard sounded like a scream, a child screaming.

Alerted. I was looking anxiously of finding the child.

"Shut up you stupid brat! No need to cry for help. You're a goner." The man snarled. He sounded drunk by the way he drag his words and unnecessary laughter at the end.

Around a short corner hidden from onlookers walking in the streets, I saw a wasted man holding a knife on a young child who was defending himself with a polished yellow skateboard pleading and crying in a pool of tears.

I didn't want to do this, remembering the fear I used to be when younger crawled back up, having no choice but to retract my claws, dashing closer behind the man silently as possible.

The man slowly moving out his knife ready to hurt the helpless child. Before the man can do anything else, I sliced him in the neck dead to the ground. Blood started to leek out from the cut from the deep wound. Screaming out in pain and then faded away, leaving the sound of a clink from the knife.

"Are you okay kiddo?" Wiping my hand on his blue shorts covered in blood.

The young boy was a crying mess. Holding up his yellow skateboard as a defense from the murderous man. Fearing that he was dead, slowly lowered the board to see the me with one hand with razor sharp claws still visible and a dead man lying on the ground.

Shaking with tears flowing down his cheeks with a choked. "Y-yeah, you aren't g-gonna k-kill me right?"

"Of course not. I Just wanted to save you, that's all." Sounding sincere and retracted my bloody hand. The boy soon gleams in relief.

Then without warning he leaps onto me, giving a tight hug around my neck. A small blush appears on my face of his kindness. Reminded me a lot of Alluka, that I hugged back. Of course, I used my cleaned hand, so I won't get any blood on him.

"Thank you!" The boy said while letting go and stepping back.

"N-no problem. I heard you screaming in fear so I decided to help." Awkwardly rubbing the back of my head.

"Really appreciate that you saved me. Is there anything I can pay you in return?"

"That's not necessary. Thanks though."

"You saved my life! That showed bravery and kindness. I want to give you this board with gratitude for saving me." Holding out his board waiting for me to take it.

"A-are you sure? That board looks brand new and expensive."

"Yeah! Oh, you don't have to worry. I got this board like a week ago from my grandpa. I can just ask him for another one. No big deal."

"Oh, okay. If you insist."

Taking the brand new skateboard from the child in hands and smiled of how a young random child can be nice to me. Looking at the little one who was still smiling.

"Well, I must get going. My parents are probably wondering where I am right now. See yah!" Grabbing his bag from the dead mans' hand and started to run. Feeling unsure if he should walk by himself, fearing an occurrence like this will happen again.

"Wait!" Shouting back at the boy. I quickly grab the slender like arm that caused him to jolt and stop in his tracks.

"Let me walk you there. To make you feel more secure."

"Thanks! I never had company before nor have any friends to hang out with." Saying in a sad tone.

Letting go of the slim fragile arms of the frail boy. "Really? I'm sorry to hear that. We can be friends, even though there's an age gap. We can make it work."

The small frown turned into to biggest smile that I had ever seen from a stranger. "Really!? Y-you'll do that?"

Nodding in a reassuring smile.

"Would I be a nuisance to you?"

Sighing, putting the skateboard down and put my hands on the boys' shoulders looking at him gently in the eyes.

"Do you really think I won't accept you after what you did?" I said softly.

Confused with a blank face. "What did I do?"

"Showing bravery and gratitude. You stood up for the man ready to attack and you giving me this board. That's what I saw in you."

The boy got all teary eyed of my words.

"I-I wish my parents were this nice just like you. Y-you're the first person that has been this nice to me."

I feel the same pain, my family was never kind to me. Never said or did anything nice in my whole life. Always being brutalized to be a murderous assassin, I never thought of being similar to my chaotic family. Just wanting a normal life and having fun. Maybe of having a friend, at least one will make me happy and he did just that. No matter the age, I'll be friends with that certain person.

"I feel your pain kid, let's go to your house. You don't want your parents to call the cops looking for you, that would be dramatic."

"Yeah, you're right. Let's go!" All joyful and happy to finally have a friend. He grabbed my hand by surprise and quietly walked along in the neighborhood.

"My house Is right down at the end of the block. Not too far."

"Okay. Hey, what's your name by the way?"

"My name? Oh, it's Eren. What's yours?"

"Killua. Cool name by the way." Gesturing a small smile.

"That's an awesome name!" This caused me to blush a bit feeling flattered. Even though someone already said the same thing before.

"How old are you kid?"

"I'm 8, you?"

"I'm 18."

Before one of us could.respond, a familiar boy with spiky hair appeared around the corner right by the boys' house. Eren let go of my hand and headed towards the house.

"This is my house! Thank you again for everything Killua!" Waving goodbye and I waved back nervously with Gon right in front of me.

Gon looked at the small boy all confused

"What was that about?"

Avoiding eye contact and kept staring at Erens house.

"It's a long story."

"Hm, whatever. Do you want to come over to my place? Or do you have other business to attend?"

I have nothing else to do except for studying. Alluka can handle on her own. Since people always assume I'm there.

"S-sure. I have nothing else to do. Where do you live?"

"I live in an apartment. Pretty decent place, it's not in a ghetto area. So it's pretty safe. Let's go, I'm all tired out."

Nodding in agreement and headed towards the complex.

~

"Here we are. Sorry that it's not a house or anything. I'm pretty low on money right now." Shyly scratching the back of his head.

I looked at the apartment and thought it was fairly decent for one person.

Wow, this is not that bad. Could be worse. At least there are no weirdos around.

"Don't apologize, idiot. It's better than nothing." Still not making any eye contact with Gon. Insult filled with not much bite that I intended to give.

"Well, that's true. I guess. Let's head inside shall we?"

   Wait.

I'm imagining this? Did Gon lips quirked to a smirk for nano second or am I just crazy?
