For the next couple of days, Baylie and I continued sitting beside her grandmother and talking our way through this. At that time, we heard a knock on the door. It was Tyler. "Savanna?" I looked his way as he mumbled, "May I talked to you for a minute?" Baylie and I gave each other confused looks before I walked out the door.
I followed Tyler outside and we started to walk down a long path. "Why were you so protective of Baylie's grandmother?" He asked. I put my head down and mumbled, "Because when I was little, I didn't have the best parents. They always fought and didn't realize I was there most of the time." Tyler looked at me in pity as I continued. "I hung at Baylie's a lot. Her grandmother was always there for me like she was there for her own grandchildren, especially after my parents died in a car crash." Tyler started to tear up as he asked softly, "That's so sad. How can you live like that?" I shrugged my shoulders.
After a while, I could tell he had feelings for me, and I think I started to have feelings for him. After a moment of silence, he asked, "I don't know if I should ask this now, but will you be my girlfriend?" When he asked that, the widest smile came upon my face and I had to say yes. "In that case," he smiled and stopped walking. I stopped as soon as I saw him stop and was a little confused. He then pulled me in for a kiss. I really wanted to push him away, but something inside me told me not to. Tyler then asked me, "Would you still shoot me if I tried to kill her again?" I glared at him and nodded my head. He rolled his eyes and we headed back.
Meanwhile, Kaleb was checking up on Baylie's grandmother and told her, "Well, you're healing faster than we expected. You may even get out of here earlier than we thought." "Thank god," Baylie whispered to herself.
When I came back, Baylie asked what that was for. I did not know what to say, so I just told her not to worried about it. I did not want her to know about that. Even though I did not tell her, that was on my mind the whole night.
When Tyler told Kaleb what happened that night, Kaleb shook his head in disbelief, "You've got to be kidding me." He ran both of his hands through his hair and covered his face. He then glared at Tyler through his fingers. Tyler shrugged his shoulders with a smile on his face. "I don't know what to do with you anymore," Kaleb mumbled into his hands.
