Before Tyler went to check up on us, Kaleb asked him, "So, when are you going to take her put on a date?" Tyler glared at him. "Shut up," he said as he walked away.
"When are you guys going to go out on a date?" Baylie asked me. I smiled and shrugged my shoulders. She then asked me, "Why don't you ever just tell me what's going on instead of me guessing?" I answered, "I hate talking about those kind of things." She understood how I felt and we went back to her grandmother.
Right before Baylie and I got ready for bed, Tyler came into our room. "Can I talk to you for a moment Savanna?" When I looked at Baylie, she gave me a guilty smile. I glared at her and whispered, "Shut up." I followed him out to his truck. "Where are we going?" I asked. He smiled and said, "It's a surprise." I was worried of what he was going to do.
He took me into an open field and parked his truck. "What's going on?" I was starting to get scared of the way he was acting. He pulled down the tailgate and I saw a blanket with a couple candles surrounding it. I gave him a confused look. He gave me a smile and I understood what he was planning.
As we crawled up on the bed of the truck, he whispered, "I wanted to spend a night with you." I smiled at him as he lit the candles. "Why did you choose to lay under the stars for a date?" I asked. He smiled and answered softly, "Because then no one can catch us together and I can get to know you better." The more he said the wider the smile on my face became.
As we talked, I started to wonder why he wanted to be with me, so I asked him. He started to get a worried look on his face. "Because I've never met anyone like you. You were so nice and caring, even though you shot me." I giggled when he mentioned that. He continued, "I was surprised when you were nice enough to take the bullet out of my shoulder. I keep falling for you deeper and deeper every day, and I don't know what I'd do if I lost you." I laid my head on his shoulder with a smile on my face after his little speech.
As the night went on, I started to get really tired. He realized that and asked, "Do you want to head back or stay here for the night?" I liked the sound of staying all night, but I wasn't sure if that was the best choice. '"What do you think?" I asked. He smiled and whispered in my ear, "I'd stay here with you as long as possible," and kissed me on the head. He put his arm around me as I tried to fall asleep. My instinct was to push him away, but I liked the warm feeling he gave me inside, so I cuddled with him that night.
We woke up really early in the morning so we could sneak back without anyone catching us. I figured Baylie had woken up by now, so I waited in her grandmother's room until she came.
