A little boy sat criss crossed on the carpeted floor as tiny plastic dinosaurs were in both of his hands. Mimicked roars and grunts escaped the young child's lips as he hit the cheap toys together filling the home with his usual child play. His mother ran frantically through the house picking up random items of clothing and left out toys that had been long forgotten by the boy who was too entranced by his dinosaurs. Two glasses of wine sat out on the island waiting to be drank as Ms. Brock excitedly waited to see her high school best friend once again. She was excited to hear she moved back to Kansas with a little boy of her own, instantly reaching out to meet up. The small home was warm and inviting, Ms. Brock cleaned the best a single mother could with a five year old. Outside the autumn air blew about causing a whirl wind of colored leaves to pass by the small window. Dinosaur noises could be heard through out the whole house but the frantic mother didn't mind, in fact it calmed her.

The knock on her front door startled her but she quickly ran to it. A minute passed as she quickly smoothed her wrinkled house dress taking one last deep breath before putting a smile on her face that was for the first time wasn't a facade. Opening the wooden door she saw two light blue eyes staring back at her. The two women squealed as they pulled each other into a tight hug. Both stumbled over each other with 'oh my god' and 'I have missed you' in every other sentences. As the bubbling women calmed down Ms. Golbach pointed to the small boy wrapped around her right leg. Ms. Brock could see two blue eyes that matched his mother's peering out, his hair a bright blonde, a shy smile on his face,

"And who is this cutie?" Ms. Brock gleamed as she bent down to his height, "This is Samuel. Samuel say hi to Ms. Brock sweetie." The shy boy waved slightly, quickly clinging back onto his mother's leg. Ms. Brock stood back up a soft smile found it's way onto her lips, "He looks just like you. How old is he?" The other mother nodded a thanks as she rubbed her son's hair adoringly, "He just turned five." Ms. Brock squealed in excitement putting her finger up to indicate once second,

"Colby could you come here a second, I have someone who wants to meet you!" Instantly little patters could be heard hurrying to the front door. Rounding the corner was a chubby five year old with wisps of brunette hair. Unlike the blonde his eyes were a dark cold blue, his cheeks a pink hue. His eyes wandered to the newest guests, his blue pools widened in shock as he bee lined straight behind his mother's legs.

"Oh Colby no need to be shy, this is Ms. Golbach she is a friend of mine. Behind her is her son Samuel, he is five too. Why don't you take him into the living room and play a little bit?" Her son only latched onto her leg more. With a sigh she detached his arms and pushed him towards the big scary guests. Gulping down his fear he waved with his right hand, "H-Hi I'm Cowby." His speech a natural slur of words that didn't sound completely right but was adorable none the less. Ms. Golbach copied Ms. Brock's actions pushing her shy son forward, "Hi Cowby, M-My name is Samuwell but you can call me Sam." The two boys stared awkwardly at each other as the two mother's awed, "Alright boys, you guys go play we are going to catch up." Ms. Brock sung as she guided her high school friend towards the kitchen and waiting wine. The grown ups walked away loud laughter already filling the small home,

"Hey Sam do you like Dinoswars?" Colby asked as he held up his little plastic figurines. Sam nodded his head up and down, a small smile making its way onto his lips. "Wanna play with them with me?" Once again Sam nodded in agreement. the brunette quickly grabbed the blonde's wrists dragging him towards the living room excitedly babbling about all the games they could play.

Neither child new that in that moment they created a friendship that would last a life time and even turn into something more.
