After all the time Sam spent with Katrina with the false smiles and fake 'I love you' today was the day he was going to end it. It took him far too long to come to terms with his love for Colby but god once he realized it, it was like a weight was lifted off his chest. Standing in front of Katrina's apartment door Sam felt giddy, excited, and a little bit angry at himself. Katrina was a beautiful, sweet, girl who deserved better than him. She deserved a guy who really loved her. She didn't deserve any of the pain she might have to go through because of this break up. It isn't fair to her but it wouldn't be fair to Sam to stay with her. He knocked. Katrina opened the door with a surprised smile, "Sam! I didn't know you were coming over." Sam awkwardly shuffled his feet, he was 26, telling a girl that he doesn't want to be with her should be easier!
"Hey Kat, can we talk? It is really important." Sam spoke quietly, Katrina's smile slowly falling off her face as she took in Sam's serious voice. The girl nodded moving over to a side to the let blonde boy in. Together they sat on the couch a few feet apart. It was strange to sit so far away from each other but neither said a word about it,
"I'm sorry Kat but I think- I think we should see other people." Sam spoke barely above a whisper, his eyes not meeting Katrina's. Sam missed the small sad smile on Katrina's lips, barely visible but there, "Sam, I knew this day was a long time coming. I just wanted to hold on to you for as long as I could. I love you Sam, I do but I know your heart belongs with a certain brunette boy." Katrina spoke softly and not once did she sound as heart broken as Sam thought she would be. His brain finally catching up with 'certain brunette boy' Sam looked up at the girl with shock, Katrina only laughed, "Come on Sam only a blind person wouldn't be able to see the way you two love each other. I noticed it for as long as we dated, I just can't believe it took you years to figure it out. Then again you were always the more oblivious one in our relationship." Katrina joked as Sam's cheeks flared a bright red,
"Well, can we still be friends? I still care about you Kat."
"I know. So of course we can still be friends. I wouldn't want to have it any other way, now shoo and go tell Brock how you really feel."
A/N: This is short but I hope it is good enough. This was just going to be a short book anyways so surprise it is almost done. Anyways check out my new book New Addition, Solby is adopting a child. So yet it is one of those corny adoption fanfictions but I'm trying my best not to fall into the cliches. Thanks for the reads, comments, and votes, they mean the world to me!! ~Nightmare
