Colby didn't know where the butterflies came from or when his heart started to skip a beat when Sam said his name. He didn't understand why his face heated up and his eyes were drawn to Sam's lips when they were facing one another. His dreams were filled with blue eyes and golden hair but he couldn't tell you when they started. The feelings came out of no where and Colby despised them. Sam was his best friend and he certainly wasn't gay. They had been Sam and Colby for years and now Colby was convinced these unwanted feelings might ruin that. He wished he could keep his heart beats regular and be able to catch his butterflies in a net but he had no luck.

"What do I do Colby? What do I wear? I haven't been on a date before!" Sam shrieked as the blonde paced in front of his closet. He would never admit it out loud but he didn't even want to go on a date with this girl. She was nice but she was reserved. Her liked people who were spontaneous and full of jokes, like Colby. Her eyes were a pretty shade of emerald but Sam couldn't help but think they were dull compared to Colby's ocean eyes. Sam wasn't gay but he couldn't help comparing every girl to his best friend. He looked at Colby for help, trying to choke down his obvious feelings for the brunette, deciding to ignore the tugging in his stomach as he looked into Colby's eyes. The normal blue eyes that were normally filled with a type of light- hearted happiness was swirled with something that Sam though could be jealousy. He dismissed the thought, deciding it was his own deep wishes manifesting, messing with how he viewed Colby,

"Relax man. Just keep what you have on, you look fine. On the date just be yourself, you have a really addictive personality. Just breathe dude, your date will go fine." Colby reassured the boy in front of him, his stomach a knot of anger and something he didn't want to admit. He wanted to be the one to take Sam out on a date, to ho,d his hands, or- Colby wasn't gay and he sure as hell didn't have feelings for his best friend. He didn't. He couldn't.

"Oh if you say so Colby. Thanks for helping me. I hope Kate and I get along well." Sam chuckled nervously as he checked his cell phone, his head pounding. He wanted nothing more than to stay with Colby and play video games. Maybe hold hands or kiss or- Sam wasn't gay and he sure as hell didn't have feelings for Colby. He didn't. He couldn't.

"You and Kate will get along great, who knows this may turn into something more." Colby joked as he let out a soft laugh along with Sam, as he balled his fists up. He watched as Sam frantically walked out the door, looking back to wave one last time. Colby let out a sigh as he headed out of Sam's room and then out of the Golbach household. With Sam long gone and Colby's heart back to beating steadily Colby looked down whispering into the wind,

"I don't have feelings for Sam Golbach." But his stomach whirled in protest.
