Weeks passed as second term arrived in the blink of an eye. The workload for 3-E seemed to be harder than last term, but you and your classmates were hanging in there.
You spent most of the rest of summer vacation studying with Karma until you were interrupted once by Koro-sensei, causing Karma to take out his game and pretend he wasn't doing any work. You scolded him afterwards and he explained that he didn't want the expectations of him to skyrocket further than they already were.
You were walking after class with Karma around the city when you turned down a street and spotted your classmates surrounding an elderly man with a knocked over bicycle and fruit laying around. You rushed over with your boyfriend and immediately interrogated them.
"They ran into him when we were roof jumping," Nagisa confessed.
"Why the hell would you do that outside of class?" you said angrily.
"If you wanted to show off, do it at training. Taking out an old man isn't very impressive," Karma sassed.
"Says the guy who's never there," Terasaka retorted.
You disregarded the statement toward Karma. There was silence until the ambulance approached and took the old man to the hospital, then the rest of the students arrived once you were there along with Karasuma and Koro-sensei who reprimanded each of your classmates, saying that the punishment is no studying for the midterm in two weeks and they had to help out at the man's--who was a principal--school.

"You're not ditching?" you questioned.
"Of course not. This is something that would make me a dick to miss out on. Plus, the octopus would have my head for it," Karma responded.
"But you are one," you pointed out.
He laughed and you smiled, loving that you could get a genuine reaction out of him. You knew he faked emotions when he was around anyone besides you and making him laugh sent you into a fit of butterflies in your stomach.
You met up with the other students at the primary school where you were repaying the debt, but it quickly became apparent that it wouldn't be the simplest job with how rambunctious the children were.
The kids wanted a play put on, so you rounded up your classmates and talked out what to do, which left Karma being the handsome prince who prevailed in the end. You sat with the children as you watched the play begin and it was clear the kids had a little innocent love for Karma as he saved the day in his knight in shining armor vibe.
Karma walked into the crowd after the children dispersed and bent down to swoop you up in his arms. You squeaked and wrapped your arms around his neck to stabilize yourself.
"My princess, I have come to rescue you," Karma chanted.
You played along. "Oh, my prince I am so lucky to have thee at my hand."
"They are so cute!" Kayano squealed.
You blushed and hopped down from Karma's arms as you saw the female students' attentions were on you and him. You went back to helping some of the kids with their math as Nagisa did the same with Sakura because she wouldn't listen to anything you said, therefore Nagisa picked up the slack.
The two weeks passed this way but with the students building on top of the collapsing primary school to make up for their atrocities, along with building a garage and a new bike for the principal.
You, personally, felt humbled by the experience. Neither you nor Karma complained about being there even though it wasn't your fault because both of you got so much out of the experience that you wouldn't have otherwise.
The principal was equally shocked and thankful of what the students of 3-E were able to accomplish in such a short period of time, but he truly wanted mentors for the kids to help them with their learning, so some of Class E promised to return and help as much as possible.
Unfortunately, midterms were the next day and no one had been able to study because of Koro-sensei forbidding it. The results were in faster than you would have liked because you weren't sure how you did without being able to glance over the material even once.
You were walking with Karma after the results came in and your papers were clutched in your grips. You looked down at the same time and beamed at the page.
"Second place," Karma muttered under his breath, dissatisfied with his results.
"Really!?" you shouted, peering at his paper in elation. "I got third; that means Asano got first."
"It doesn't matter. I didn't come in first." He sighed.
"Neither did I, but I'm proud of both of our accomplishments. We did this without studying up to the date," you commented.
"Yeah, you're right."
You each turned your heads when you heard commotion coming from across the schoolyard on the main campus. You started walking in that direction and immediately deduced the situation. Sugino, Okajima, and Nagisa were standing in front of the members of Class A with sullen expression and the words Class A were spitting made it worse.
"Grades are the end all be all of this institution. The bottom feeders have no right to address those in the top ranks," Sakakibara said boastfully.
"Really? Then by all means, I guess you got nothing to say to us," Karma interjected, making the attention revert to him. "I guess I shouldn't get cocky. Teach will probably be like It doesn't count unless you come in first. Don't you people get it? We're the only ones here who gave it their all this time; everybody else was pulling their punches to give you guys a fair shot."
Karma took your hand and strolled away, but not without you shooting a glare at Asano for picking on your friends. You witnessed him wrinkle his nose and brush off you and Karma as if you were lowly trash, but you didn't care because 3-E was still top of the ranks, despite what 3-A thought.
