You walked with Nagisa, Karma, and Sugino during lunch a couple weeks after the Kyoto field trip when you passed the baseball team's practice. Sugino was called over by one of the player's and the three of you listened in on the conversation, not liking what you heard.

"Don't make such a big deal out of it; burning the candle at both ends is a priviledge of the gifted," Shindo taunted him.

"Humility much?" Karma retorted, approaching the fence and dragging you by the hand with him. "Wow, sounds to me that someone thinks they're one of the chosen ones."

"I am. Don't believe me? Fine, let's see how you feel after watching me play in the tournament. There's great and there's everybody else. Guess which one I am. That's just how it is," Shindo boasted.

After more back and forths, the four of you continued back to class. Sugino was grumbling under his breath the whole way and Karma's grip on your hand was tight. Both seemed to be pissed off but there was nothing you could do about it.

Playing in only the exhibition game guaranteed Class E of having their complete energy while the Kunugigaoka baseball team was beginning to get worn out. Practicing with Koro-sensei to prepare for this was also harrowing, but it was what needed to be done for 3-E to prevail.

The girls were back from the basketball game and took their seats in the bleachers as the baseball game began. You, on the other hand, went over to the dugout to wish Karma luck. He saw you before you knew it and rushed over.

"Kick their asses," you whispered.

"Yes, Ma'am," he replied, pecking your lips, earning a ring of hollers from Class E.

You sat next to Kayano and Hazama and watched as the game started and 3-E easily got the upper hand. You cheered and groaned whenever the scene called for it until the tables began to turn and the Kunugigaoka baseball team got ahead.

You were keeping your sight trained on Karma as he got up to bat and teased the opposing team and the audience. You shook your head in disbelief and silently prayed he wouldn't be killed on the field because of his attitude.

The next time around, you're thrown off by Karma and Isogai crowding the plate but you understand what they're trying to do, yet it doesn't help calm your nerves about the boys being so close to getting hit with a bat. When the guy swings, you clench your fist as it almost cracks Isogai and Karma in their heads.

In the end, Class E comes out with the win in an upset but the rest of the class couldn't be more proud. The students of Kunugigaoka hurry out of the vicinity as the girls rush onto the field to congratulate their male counterparts. You jumped right into Karma's arms and he swung you around in elation.

"Congratulations! I'm so proud of you," you said jovially once he set you down.

Class E gathered up their equipment and headed to their respective homes after a small celebration. Instead of going back to the hell you called home, you went to Karma's mansion of a house as usual since his parents were rarely around.

Karma's parents were financial traders and traveled most of the year, but since Karma had to stay in school, he was left behind and that also meant he had limited contact with his parents. You had met them the few times they were around over the years, so they didn't mind you being at their estate when they were away.

You and Karma headed to his bedroom and sat on the bed when you arrived. You each cracked open your textbooks and put on light music for background noise as you studied together. With finals approaching, you needed all the knowledge you could accumulate. That being said, Karma wouldn't admit he needed to study, but he worked the hardest out of anyone.

"An electric motor makes three thousand revolutions per minute. How many degrees does it rotate in one second?" you read.

"Eighteen thousand degrees per second," Karma answered instantly.

You patted his head like a dog. "Good boy! Who wants a treat?"

Karma playfully growled and tackled you, pinning you down on the bed as you giggled.

"Now, (Y/N), didn't anyone tell you not to play with feral animals?"

"You're like a baby Chihuahua, honey. You're nothing close to feral," you said.

"Mhm." Karma thought about your response. "That's not what you were saying the other night."

"Karma!" you squeaked.

Said boy leaned down and brushed your lips with his before claiming them in a heated kiss, then he pulled away and sat back on the bed with his textbook in his lap. You crossed your legs and were in the same position as you continued flipping through the equations and problems and testing each other.

"Do you think we'll be able to kill Koro-sensei?" you asked suddenly.

"We have to. It's our purpose. It's the reason we're working so hard and that our grades are better. Hell, it would be an insult to Koro-sensei if we didn't kill him. He wants us to," Karma concluded.

"What if we don't?"

Karma looked you straight in the eyes and saw the distinct traces of fear that he hated to see in you. He knew what you were thinking and reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear.

"If we don't, then all will be lost, that's the reality. Nothing will matter anymore, except for the fact that I'll always love you, okay?" he muttered.

You nodded and went back to focusing on your studies as you quizzed each other. You had to have trust in your classmates and in Karma because, no matter what you wanted to believe, the end was coming closer with each passing day and there was nothing you could do to stop it.
