There was only a month left until the world was supposed to explode thanks to Koro-sensei, but none of you counted on the government to intervene the way they did on that fateful day. Your class was cast aside as if your training was the least important thing in the entire plan as the government officials surrounded Class E's building with anti-sensei shields to keep the octopus inside as they attempted to assassinate him.
Your class took it into their own hands to infiltrate the shield and rescue your teacher, but you weren't sure how you were going to accomplish that as of yet. For now, you changed into the combat gear you were supplied and rallied your classmates.
For the first time, you didn't feel scared or nervous or anxious. No, this was too personal for you to back down from and cower away shyly like you normally would. You wanted to be an assassin, and as you said, they both destroy and save, and this was a time of saving.
"Our last mission," you called over everyone with your weapon at your side. "We have to see him before this ends. We have three hours to get up there and I expect everyone to do their best. We didn't train this much to just be overshadowed. Let's do this."
"I love when you're assertive," Karma whispered in your ear, causing you to blush slightly but you pushed him away because you were the leader now and you couldn't revert back to your old ways just yet.
You sent half the students one way around the police line and the rest on the other side. You talked through the ear pieces and directed them (with some of Karma's help) around the forest in order for them to take out the government officials with precision.
You stayed by Karma as to discuss any changes in the plans as you continued to trudge up the mountain like ninjas. You had to stop Karma a few times from shoving wasabi up the soldiers' noses and focus on the mission.
"Nakamura, you're up. Take them out," you muttered in the device.
Nakamura managed to wipe out three people on her own and make a clear path for the rest of you to slip by. Once you reached toward the top of the mountain, you rushed in with your head held high until encountering a worthy adversary. You took it upon yourself with your stun gun to attack the man, taking him down as if it were child's play in mere seconds, much to the others' surprise.
The students finally made it past the barrier and group hugged Koro-sensei but your teacher was less than happy about your arrival. There was no idea about what to do anymore because Koro-sensei was trapped and there was nothing you were able to do about it. Anyway you put it, Koro-sensei was going to die tonight.
"Things cannot always portion out the way you wish," Koro-sensei reminded wisely. "Remember that when the time calls for it, you are all assassins. Your rescue effort means more to me than you could possibly know."
Soon, Karasuma and Irina showed up to the gathering and talked to Koro-sensei as well. While that was happening, you walked off to the side with Karma to discuss what to do as the leaders of the class.
"We have no choice," Karma mumbled regretfully. "We have to kill him."
"I know," you whispered, tears threatening to spill from your eyes. "I just hate this. We have no choice in what we're doing. Koro-sensei has become a part of all of us, yet we're at a crossroads with what we're doing."
"It's not a crossroads. He has to be assassinated. That was what brought us all together as a class and it's how we'll go out," Karma replied.
You nodded as Karma reached up and wiped away one of your tears with his thumb. You turned back to the crowd and saw Koro-sensei beginning to lay on the ground with the students holding down his tentacles together while Karasuma and Irina stood to the side.
You walked over and held down a tentacle with Karma as Nagisa arrived and decided that he would be the one to strike the final blow. It was only right for Nagisa to do so because his bond with Koro-sensei was the strongest.
Koro-sensei called attendance before he could allow himself to be killed, which made every last person burst into tears without holding back. There was an ambiance in the atmosphere that signified the end to one of the most important parts of all your lives, but there was nothing you were able to do about it.
"My students... You understand better than anyone the value of what's lost because you've studied, fretted, turned it over and over in your minds, and in the process without realizing it, gave that life meaning. It's been a priviledge watching each of your grow, but the best part was growing right along side of you. So please, in this moment, let me be the finest expression of your bloodlust," Koro-sensei said.
Nagisa hesitated multiple times before he yelled and landed the final strike that ended Koro-sensei's life. You could feel the anguish in the air that filled each of your hearts, but it was over. Everything was over. It was the end of the year and you completed your greatest mission.
Koro-sensei's body dissolved and vanished into the sky and you were left with your classmates--no, your friends to deal with the aftermath of what your teacher left behind in his path.
You huddled together with your friends and held both Karma and Nagisa on your sides as you cried together for the loss of someone so prominent in your lives. On this day, you didn't just lose a teacher; you lost a mentor and a friend.
Graduation was the next day and you couldn't imagine Koro-sensei not being present, but you had to remind yourself and your friends that he was always going to be in your hearts as you walked across the stage the next evening.
The best thing about this was that you learned more than you could have in any other classroom. You wouldn't trade the experience for the world despite the sadness you felt coursing through your body with each breath you took.
The only thing you looked forward to now was the future where everything that was left in your life laid. All you had to do was move forward.
