Kamui fell on the bed and sighed deeply. He couldn't believe how weak he was becoming with every passing day on earth. The local air was breaking in through skin to his heart and brain, invading the rest of organs and tissues. He closed his eyes, recalling every one of the bloody battles and the screams of his victims. He had been seeing it that way but now in his actions he decern the pain and sorrow that had been supressed by the blood lust and hate.

A lost of his mother was unbereable so the revenge that he wanted to get by force, had become the only option. He just wished to protect what he loved but somewhere along the way his goal had changed its shape and had turned into empty words. He lost himself in the madness, consumed by Yato's blood and constant fighting.

After everything he had done he didn't think he would be afraid. That terrific and mean feeling appeared in his heart, or maybe rather a substitute for that organ, for the second time. Fear was too human, not appropriate for the great warrior from the noble race. No, he wasn't afraid, the others were afraid of him. At least it had been that way, now he wasn't so sure.

His thoughts wondered when he was imagining his sister in her jagged dress with an umbrella in her hand and with mysterious expression on her face. He considered endless amount of scenarios and every one of them had Kagura's different answer. However, he knew he couldn't predict the reality. He wanted to run away although he was aware that wouldn't make any sense.

Abuto came into his captain's cabin noiselessly, no saying a word. He had been watching Kamui growing up, changes of his personality and view on human life but he had never seen this amount of anxiety that was destroying him on the inside. He was aware that Umibozu's daughter was a strong warrior but he didn't expect she had also a power to change murderers back into rebellious stupid teenagers. Abuto cleared his throat and Kamui jerked.

"It's time."

Kamui sighed heavily and sat, combing fingers in his hair. He took the umbrella that was laying next to bed and left the room, ignoring Abuto's presence. The man just smiled under his nose.

"Do you want me to prepare the cabin?" asked Abuto. Kamui turned to him with a characteristic smile on his face what caused Abuto to get chill up his spine.

"Don't make fun of me, Abuto. I made that offer because I knew she wouldn't say yes. I wanted to be a good brother. Harusame isn't some kind of a charity taking care of brats like her" said Kamui sweetly but before he turned his back to Abuto, the older Yato noticed how the expression on his captain's face changed. There was nothing left from that earlier smile.

If we're not taking care of brats then why are you on the board?, thought Abuto bitterly, recalling every problem that they had had with twelve-year-old Kamui. He didn't have much choice. He ordered to prepare the cabin.

A big, spreading and always green tree was located in the same place every day for months and years. It had never been cut or transformed, persistently accompanying Ms. Hanako, the owner of the only grocery shop on the street. Gintoki claimed that the tree was over one hundred years because when he had arrived in Kabuki, the tree has already been there.

The tree stood there intacted among the ruins of building and other remains, towering above the silent ground. It resembled the angel of death that had brought the apocalypse by its presence on formerly full of life street.

Kagura sat up under the tree because it was the only source of protection from the burning sun. A purple umbrella was lying at her feet. It was dirty and battered so it was perfectly fit into the surroundings.

"That idiot is late" mumbled Kagura, closing her eyes. She sighed. Maybe it was for the better? If he didn't come it would spare her difficulties having to choose. She was ashamed of herself because of thoughts and the form they take. Her meetings with Kamui were now-and-then so she should be happy about every minute spend with him.
