It was early morning, I decided to take a patrol out to the edge of the twoleg place. I ducked my head into the apprentice den and whispered,
"Lionpaw! Brindlepaw! Juniperpaw!"
The three young cats looked up.
"Patrol." I beckoned them. Thy yawned and got up getting out of their den, shaking and stretched big their pelt.
Wow. What good apprentices. I wish I was that well behaved as a apprentice. I thought and smiled.
"C'mon.  We're heading to twoleg place for a patrol." I placed my tail in their heads and lead them out of camp.

It was now sun high and still no twolegs. I was expecting a lot of them but there's just monsters and a few twolegs.
"Singewhisker! There's some ripped prey over here!" Lionpaw mewed.
I quickly made my way there.
"Th-Those are not cat claws, not dog claws...! It's a single whole! I've never heard of a single fanged creature!" Juniperpaw's eyes were tainted with fear. Lionpaw's eyes narrowed. "It's killing our prey! We should find the thing and kill it!" Lionpaw hissed.
"Stop! We don't even know what did this! It could've been a twoleg. Or as Brother said, and cat or dog." Brindlepaw stared at the rabbit in concentration.
"We should leave." I picked up the rabbit and shooed the apprentices in front of me.
I took one paw step when I was slung to the ground.
I felt claws stab my throat. And a voice growl,"Hello Kitty Kitty!" He smirked.
I struggled but he dug deeper into my throat.
"Leave him be!" Lionpaw hissed and prepared to leap.
"Oh no lil kitty! I will kill him if you leap." He purred. My eyes glazed in pain and fear.
Brindlepaw was calm. She stared at the tom and study him everywhere.
She sighed to the others, "We should get help." She said and shooed the other cats ahead and went behind them. I let tears slip down my cheeks. They left me. I shuttered.
The wait was lifted of of me when a silver flash zoomed by.
Brindlepaw snarled and left a nasty cut in the tom, who I can see now was a white tom with black spots. Brindlepaw pushed me up and yowled at me to run. I ran just behind her. We made it back to camp where the other two apprentices franticly told Preystar the problem.
"I'm alive, thanks to Brindlepaw." I purred licking the top of the she-cat's head.
"Thank you." I nuzzled her.

"Brindlepaw!"
"Brindlepaw!"
"Brindlepaw!"
