Starry Paws Book Two

Times Up PART 1

        I sat up on the rock, purring with pride as my younger siblings sat in front of me.
"Since Preystar is.... sick... I will preform the ceremonies!" I purred with a hint of regret but smiled brightly.
"Lionpaw, step forward." I said loudly in my deputy voice.
The large black tom stepped towards me with a massive grin on his face.
"Do you promise to uphold the warrior code even at the cost of your life?" I lowered my gray gaze to the tom.
He proudly puffed out his chest,"I do!" He mewed swishing is tail and raising his head.
"Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name." I dipped my head the raised it to the darkening sky.
"Lionpaw, from this moment on you will be known as, Lionfire!" I purred and licked Lionfire's shoulder.

"Juniperpaw, step forward."
The white masked she-cat bounded forward.
"Do you promise to uphold the warrior code even at the cost of your life?" I mewed. I glanced around and saw the swelling pride in my father's eyes. He nodded a 'thank you' to me. I purred and focused my eyes on the she-cat.
"I do!" She meowed, twitching her tail impatiently.
"Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior name. From this moment on, you will be known as Junipershadow!" I mewed and saw the shocked look on the gray she-cats face turn to pride and ambition.
"Thank you! Thank you! I will serve my clan for as long as I live!" She mewed fiercely. 

"Brindlepaw step forward!" I purred at personally my favorite little sister, she saved my life countless times.
"Do you promise to uphold the warrior code even at the cost on your life?" I repeated the magic words.
She nodded and purred, "I-I do!" She spoke loudly. 
I let out a Mrrow of amusement.
"Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior name. Brindlepaw, you will now be known as Brindlefrost!" I cried out and the cats erupted into cheers ask congratulations.
"Gullkit! Do you wish to take the path of a warrior?" I mewed, nodding toward the cream and white tom.
His green eyes swelling with pride as he nodded.
"From this moment on, until you've earned your warrior name, you will be know as Gullpaw. I've chosen Splashcliff as your mentor." I glanced at Splashcliff's shocked face.
She touched noses with the small tom.
"Pridekit, you will be known as Pridepaw, Mousenose, you will show Pridepaw the way of a fierce warrior! And to control that pride." I laughed a little.
Pridepaw snirted and puffed out his chest and touched his nose to Mousenose's. Mousenose looked up with amusement bursting in his eyes.
"Faithkit, I have been told you want to be a medicine cat, am I correct?" I mewed, I saw the glimmer of hope in Snowheart's eyes as she heard.
"I do!" She squealed, violently wagging her gray and white tail.
"Then from now on, Snowheart will mentor you, Faithpaw!"
I yowled, stepping towards the edge of the rock.
She purred and bounced towards Snowheart, Nuzzling her black nose.
My heart skipped a beat as I saw a starry black and gray tom swish his tail around Skyarrow.
"C-Cloudclaw!" I quietly gasped, I stopped my self from leaping down to touch the nose of the starry tom.
He whispered something in Skyarrow's ear, by the looks of it she was happy, as a smiled spread across her face.
He wiped a tear from her face then turned and headed back up to the stars.

I layer down in my den with Petalcloud and Goosejump pressed against me. A yowl broke the silence of the night and I barked out of my den, scrambling to my paws.
The white and black tom stood at the entrance with cats pouring into camp around him.
In the most menacing voice he spoke,
"Times up, kitties!"
