Starry Paws Book Two

Stolen

I raced back into camp with Petalcloud and Sapphirepslash. I leaped the through the brambles and toppled onto the dusty ground beside the prey pile.
"What's the rush, Uncle Singewhisker?" Moorpaw's kind voice mewed.
"Dogs..." I panted getting to my paws leaping into Preystar's den where I found him chatting with Snowheart.
"Singewhisker? What is it?" He asked seeing my frantic face.
"Dogs! Two dogs near the Shadowclan border! We need back up, Now!" I hissed steadying my paws.
"Take, Crowshine, Goosejump, Skypaw, Moorpaw, Rushjaw, and Frostwillow! Go!" He hissed leaping out of the den following my patrol.

I leaped onto a large black dog's short furred back raking my claws down its shoulders. It jumped around trying to fling me off but I dug my claws deeper into his shoulders before releasing it. I swiftly land on the ground in front of it. I dove onto my back and under it's belly, scrapping my claws down his belly, the dog fled only to attack Crowshine.
Crowshine withered under the dog's massive paws when a dark blur flew across the clearing scrapping his claws down the dogs face. He landed hissing and spitting.
I didn't bring and black and white cat on this patrol?!
I thought as the black cats face became visible, BadgerSnow! The Shadowclan deputy! I thought and leaped forward, landing on the massive beast's back. I sunk my teeth into the dog's ear, I mewed in satisfaction as blood seeped through the bite and into my mouth.
Crowshine hissed and scratched the dog's eye sending blood splatters across Her black cheek.
BadgerSnow thew himself into the dog's side leaving a bite on it's belly.
The dog yipped in pain and dashed off.
      "Thank you, Badgersnow." I mewed to muscular black and white tom dipping my head.
"No problem, Singewhisker. The dogs were at the border. I hope there's not a problem with us crossing it to defend our territory from the dogs." He mewed flicking an ear.
I shook my head,"It's for a good reason. Let's get back to defending the borders." I mewed and leaped back into battle, Badgersnow whispered something in Crowshine's ear before leaping back into battle.
I jumped onto a tan long-legged dog and bit it's shoulder, it barked in pain and thrashed around. I fell off and slid in the dust sending clouds of dust around my lower body. I ran at he dog clawing it's ears and muzzle. I hissed as it grabbed my scruff and tossed me at a tree. I hit the base of the tree wincing in pain, blood was seeping down the cut on my shoulder. I growled lowly and sprang to my paws quickly in shock as Petalcloud's body has thrown into the same tree. I saw her lay there blood racing like a river out of a cut on her muzzle and back. I didn't hesitate, I sprang with my hind legs onto the tan dog's back, it jumped and thrashed around but I clung on very tightly. I got into a sturdy position and I leaned to the side of the dog and sank my large fangs into the dog's neck sending it whining. I held tightly before releasing. I ripped my thorn sharp claws across the wound. Screeching, It knocked me off and dashed away, before it leaped trough the bushes I slashed its flank with my claws.
       I rushed to Petalcloud's side.
"I'm okay dad..." She wheezed shaking blood from her nose.
I helped her to her paws, she purred rubbing her cheek against mine.
"Thanks.." She mewed. I purred in response.
    Skypaw's bloody fur crossed in front of me, "Skypaw!" I hissed to her.
She looked up, "Yes, Cousin?" She looked up licking the blood off her muzzle.
It wasn't her blood.... I thought hesitantly.
"Take Petalcloud bake to camp along with Moorpaw." I mewed walking Petalcloud over. Moorpaw leaned on a branch, his side bleed heavily and his breath was raspy. Skypaw and Frostwillow helped the two back to camp.
    I leaped at a small terrier slash deep claw marks through it's white fur along it's face. It whined in pain and snarled at me, saliva dripped from it's fangs. I hissed and bit it's ear. It's yipping turned into snarling and it reached it's head around and grabbed my scruff. I hissed as it's fangs dug into my skin. He twisted and spat furiously as it shook me in it's powerful jaws. I raked my needle-sharp claws down across it's eye, piercing the eyeball.  The dog screeched and let me go, bolting into the forest.
     I panted on the blood stained grass. "Sapphirespalsh, Goosejump. Make sure they're gone." I ordered and they nodded, pelting after the large beasts.
       We appeared back in middle territory and a screech sent us flying back to camp.
                      ******
     Snowcliff was franticly screeching,
"My kits! My kits!" She wailed dashing around camp. "My kits they're gone!" She cried collapsing on the mossy ground. I rushed to her side along with Shallowstream. "My babies...." She whimpered, tears fell like rain onto the grass. Shallowstream had tears forming at his eyes. I placed my tail on the she-cat's shoulder, As Palepaw stepped out of the medicine cat den, "It was two cats, I couldn't identify if they were clan or rouge. They smelled of wild garlic!" She wrinkled her nose. "One had black fur and the other had gray tabby fur. They were caked in mud and sand." She finished dipping her head in sadness and disappointment. "I failed to retrieve them.... I'm sorry." She mewed lowing her head.
"It's okay, you're not a trained warrior apprentice."
I snarled in the disgust,
"Stealing kits is a sign of weakness. They can't prosper on their own so they need Thunderclan blood to do so. They are weak whoever these mangy fox-hearted monsters are! They will never get away with it again! Not when I'm here!" I spat in anger
"What if I never see my babies again!? What if they killed them!? Oh my poor kits!!" She wailed covering her face with her paws.
"It's okay. Potionpaw is one of the strongest cats I've ever seen. You saw what he did to that rouge!" Shallowstream mewed to the white warrior. "He almost killed her...." She whimpered softly.
"But he was protecting Celestialpaw! He saved her!" "I guess you right..." She sighed flattening her ears,"Oh Shallowstream! I want them back!" She wailed in distress. I snarled and raised my head eyeing the white she-cat, Snowcliff. "We will find them." I growled flicking my tail in agitation.
"I promise."
