"Roy, babe, I'm back!" I called, as I stepped into the apartment I lived in with my boyfriend, Roy Harper.

"Hey f/n," he replied, kissing me.

"What do you want to eat?" I asked.

"Uh, actually, I have something to do tonight. I was just getting ready to call you," Roy said.

"Shit Roy, you've been gone a lot. Are you okay?" I said, frowning.

"C'mon, baby, I'll be back soon. I swear," Roy said, hugging me and playing with my hair.

"Fine. But, be ready tonight. We haven't has fun in days!" I whined.

"Okay," he said, and walked out the door.

It was now eleven-thirty, six hours after he'd left.

I heard a knock on the door.

"He-" I started.

I gasped.

Nightwing was standing in my doorway.

"Do you need something?" I asked, panicking. "Is Roy okay?"

"Roy's in the hospital. He was shot by a gangster," Nightwing said, closing the door behind him.

"Why was he there? Oh, God, is he a criminal?" I asked.

"No, he, well, was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think he was planning to surprise you with something," Nightwing said, looking uncomfortable.

"Can I see him?" I asked.

"I'm sorry, the doctor said only immediate family is allowed in the unit," Nightwing replied coolly.

"Alright. Can you bring him here when he's ready, or do you want me to pick him up?"

"I'll bring him by," Nightwing said.

The next week was a blur of me drinking, working, eating, and waiting for Roy.

One day, I came home, and lo and behold, Roy was on the kitchen.

"F/n, I know this is sudden, but I have something to tell you," Roy said, serious.

"Ookay," I stuttered.

"I'm Red Arrow."

"Alright. Is that how you got shot?" I asked.

"Yes."

There was a pause.

"You're taking this better than I thought!" Roy said.

"What? Did you think I was going to throw a bitch fit?"

"F/n, will you marry me?" Roy blurted.

"Of course!" I screamed, and hugged him.

We kissed, and I sat on his lap a lot that evening......
