Fastest man alive? What about woman?

"Wally, I could probably beat you in a race," I said, grinning at him.

His freckled face flushed.

"Could not. Fastest man alive, remember?"

"What about woman?"

"I doubt your skills are good enough to beat me," Wally said, rolling his eyes.

"Sure."

I flipped my hair over one shoulder.

"Fine. I challenge you to a race. This evening at five, on the speed course," Wally challenged.

"Great, see you then, loser!" I threw a cocky smile his way.

The next hour, I stretched and warmed up.

Exercise is important, but useless if you don't properly stretch and warm up.

Since I had an extra hour, I ate proteins that gave the body extra muscle.

I also made sure to eat a lot of carbs and sugars for energy and drink plenty of water.

Knowing Wally, he'd be so sure to beat me that he wouldn't take proper steps to "insure peak performance".

Sorry if I'm using crazy words, I'm a personal trainer.

Anyway, as the clock neared five, I slipped into my Lady Speed suit.

It was f/c with a silver lighting bolt on the chest.

Cliche, I know, I just couldn't help it.

I sped off to the speed course in Central City.

Once I got there, Dick Grayson and Roy Harper were there, along with Wally.

"Ready to lose?" I asked.

"Never."

"I'm timing you guys. Three hundred laps around the course," Dick said.

The course was rubber concrete, with two lanes separated by a glass wall.

There was a curve, so one lane started behind the other one.

"There's going to be a lap counter at the start line if you need one," said Roy

I nodded.

"Runners, line up," Dick said.

I chose the inside lane.

Wally lined up, about one hundred feet on front of me.

"On your mark, get set, go!" Dick yelled, starting his clock.

We both sped off.

Wally pulled hard the first ten laps, but I let him.

I knew he'd tire out quickly by running so fast.

As he slowed down, I matched his pace almost exactly, going slightly faster.

He began to fall back around lap two hundred fifty, and by the time we had three to go, Wally was behind by at least sixteen feet.

I grinned as I ran, pushing myself faster.

Just one more lap.

Glancing behind me, Wally had fallen behind by another three feet.

My grin widened, and I ran as fast as I could to the finish.

Crossing the line, Wally passed a second behind me.

"Y/n is the winner!" Dick announced.

"Told you."

Wally winced, and grabbed his side.

"Cramp?"

"Yeah."

"Did you eat?"

His face told me the answer.

"I'm so glad I got beat by my girlfriend," Wally said, and pulled me into a deep kiss.

I kissed him back.

My muscles ached, but not as much as they did that night.....
