I flipped off of the balance beam and landed perfectly.

"Great job F/n!" my coach yelled. "Your balance is perfect. I'm sure you're going to do great in the competition tomorrow."

"Thanks." I grabbed my water bottle and took a giant gulp.

Screwing the cap back on top, I grabbed my gym bag to head to the locker room.

"F/n! You did great out there," my friend, B/f/n, said. "Dick Grayson looked impressed."

"Shut up," I said, my cheeks burning. 

Yes, Dick Grayson was my crush.

I'm stupid though, thinking the rich guy will fall for me. 

"Maybe you should talk to him," B/f/n said. 

"No way! I'll just get rejected or something."

I finished changing, and walked out of the locker room, and saw Dick over practising on the floor mats.

"Hi," he said when he saw me.

"Hey. Um, are you participating in the competition tomorrow?" 

"Yeah. My block is twelve to twelve fifteen."

"Mine's in the afternoon. Well, I guess I'll see you then," I said, and turned around.

"Wait, F/n! Do you want to grab lunch afterwards?" Dick blurted.

"Like, with the team?" I asked awkwardly.

"I meant, with your family and my family," he replied. "Bruce and I."

"Oh. I'm living in a foster home, and they can't make it tomorrow. Maybe another day," I said, and frowned.

"You could just come. If that's okay, I mean." Dick rubbed the back of his neck.

"Okay. Do you have a phone number or something so we can plan a place to meet?" 

"Yeah." I gave him my phone, and he inputted his number.

"Bye," I said when I saw my foster mom's car pull up. "I'll text you when I get home."

"Okay. See you later!"

Once I got home, I grinned.

I texted Dick, after eating dinner with my foster mom and her boyfriend.

Technically, Veronica was like my older sister, being only ten years older than me.

"So, you got a meet tomorrow, right?" Veronica asked.

"Yeah. I'm going to lunch with someone afterwards," I replied.

"Ooh. Who?"

"A kid from the team."

"B/f?"

"No. Um, Richard Grayson."

"So you have a date?"

"Yeah?"

"Just be careful. Text me where you're going."

"Okay."

I texted Dick that I was able to go and he gave me the address of a burger joint.

Now all I had to do was sleep for the competition tomorrow.

I woke up, with my stomach in knots.

"Hey, F/n. I'm so sorry I can't make it to your competition, but I have work," Veronica said, frowning.

"It's okay, I promise."

I ate breakfast, and walked to the gym.

Since I lived two miles away from the gym, it wasn't a bad walk.

"F/n! I'm glad you're here. You're going to have to fill in for Bridget since she broke her arm last night. You're doing floor. I hope you can do it," Coach said.

"Okay. What's the routine?"

She handed me a clipboard with the routine, and I stretched out while reading it.

"Welcome to the Riverwood Semifinals! First up, we have Dick Grayson, representing Riverwood Gymnastics club! He will be on the rings today!" the announcer said.

Dick walked out on the floor to where the rings were.

He jumped up, and flipped around.

Then, he flipped over backwards,  and continued to flip and switch directions.

"The judges have made their vote. 10 out of 10 for Dick Grayson!" The announcer showed the judges scoring on the board.

When it was time for the girls, my stomach was a mess.

I messed up my landed for my back handspring, so I received a 8.

Not bad, but I could've done better.

"You did well!" Dick said, meeting me at the end of the competition.

"Thanks."

Dick smiled. "You know, this is my first date."

"Really? Mine too. I thought you'd be more popular with the ladies." I reddened after I realized what I said.

"Aww, you're cute when you blush."

We ordered, and ate.

After that, he offered to walk me home.

"Thanks," I said. "I had a great time."

"Me too. Let's do it again, okay?"

"Yeah." I wavwd, and watched him leave.

Oh yeah, I was definitely going out with him again.

Sorry I haven't been able to update! I think I'm going to have a spotty update schedule, since all my teachers want me to have tests before Christmas break.

Over break, I'll be able to post a kit more often!
