"Connor, I love you, but I can't keep doing this!" I screamed.

Tears left a wet track down my cheeks and my e/c eyes were filled with sadness.

"Look, I'm sorry babe, but the team needs me," he said, blue eyes pleading for me to understand.

"Seems like the team is more important than I am. I'm never important enough to you," I whispered.

Connor stood in silence.

My heart ached with the words I was about to say.

I willed my voice to be strong, and said, "I'm sorry, but this isn't going to work out."

Looking at Connor's face crumble, I closed the door on him.

I slumped down against it, and held my head in my hands.

Yes, I loved him, but he never put me before the "team".

His smile was intoxicating, the way he looked at me in love, the way he hugged me when I needed him.

Gone.

Connor loved me, but he loved his team more.

I couldn't live like that, knowing I was always second best.

Call me petty, but it hurts knowing how someone you love put a something else over you.

Besides, he was saving the world, right?

Connor's P.O.V.

I didn't deserve to cry.

Everything y/n had said was true.

I did put the team in front of her.

I fucked up. Bad.

Now I had to face the consequences.

"I'm sorry," I whispered to the closed door.

Then I ran out to the street.

My feet took the familiar path to the nearest zeta tube, and I teleported to the cave.

I headed to the training centre.

Pulling out my specially designed punching bag, I began hitting it as hard as I could.

Over and over again, ignoring the dull pain in my wrists.

"I'm sorry," I kept saying, over and over. "I loved you. I still do!"

Nightwing's voice rang in my comm link.

"Connor. Come to the main room."

His voice was grave.

I walked over there slowly.

As soon as I got there, Nightwing looked towards me.

"There's been an accident. Y/n has amnesia. She doesn't remember anything."

My heart stopped.

"Nothing?"

"Not even her name."

My world crashed.

She was gone.

I didn't know how good I had it until I didn't.
