*Okay, so in this AU, your soulmate has a ring that matches yours. They glow when you're close to your soulmate, and heat up when you're really close.*

Ow, That's Hot! No, Not You!

I adjusted my skirt awkwardly in the mirror.

First Day at Gotham Academy, and I was already dreading it.

The skirts were way too short, I mean, are all the girls hoes?

Also, the uniform shirt was absolutely ridiculous!

I'm only going here because this was the only school they let me skip grades in the scholarship program.

I really shouldn't be in eleventh grade.

Anyway, I ate my breakfast and grabbed my backpack.

Then I said goodbye to my parents, and trekked to the Academy.

I knew I was in trouble once I saw rich kids pull up in limousines.

"Shit," I muttered, "Way to not call attention to yourself."

Groaning, I walked into the gates, ignoring the looks from the other students.

I glanced down at the silver ring on my finger.

It was glowing.

Great.

Heading in the general direction of the office, I felt my ring heat up.

Once I reached the ornate door, I pushed it open.

Unfortunately, it was a pull door.

Finally, I got inside and asked the secretary, "Excuse me, can I have my schedule?"

"Oh, hi honey. Of course, what's your name?"

"Y/n L/n."

"Here you go."

She handed me a paper.

Math, Science, English, History, Gym, Lunch, Writing, and then Chemistry.

I walked in the direction of the Math room.

"Is this Mr. Hoytt?" I asked.

"Yes," said a middle aged man.

"I'm your new student, Y/n L/n," I said.

"Great. Take the empty seat."

Mr. Hoytt gestured to a seat next to a black haired, blue eyed, too young for eleventh grade, boy.

My ring glowed hot as I sat down.

"Ow! That's hot!" the boy yelped.

I looked over.

"Not you," he replied. "My ring."

Glancing in horror, I cleared my throat.

"Y/n L/n," I said, holding my hand out.

"Timothy Drake."

He shook it and I looked at our rings.

They matched.

I rolled my eyes.

"Great," I said.

Timothy also looked and blushed.

I pulled my hand away and unzipped my backpack.

"If we're soulmates, please tell me you know how to calculate the area of an irregular shape."

His mouth dropped.

"I'm taking that as a no."

"You just find the shortest angle, multiply by pi, then square," Timothy blurted out.

Raising my eyebrows, I said, "This could work."

Let's just say we also has chemistry together.

In more ways than one.
