- jacks pov

We finally arrived at our destination. Laguna Beach, the beach for the weekend not bad. We also rented a house for the weekend. There was a total of 4 rooms, 3 upstairs and 1 downstairs. The one downstairs Leena, Tanya and Kayla took. They're making Tanya sleep on one of the air mattresses we brought. Upstairs rooms were occupied with Zach and Corbyn, Jonah and Daniel, and Clara and Kylee. Ethan who was Kylee's bf said he'd sleep upstairs in the small tv area the house had. Leaving me and Lex to sleep on the couch.

You know it's starting to hit me that everyone is purposely trying to force us to spend time together... ALONE. I can't force her though, she can't even look at me for a good few minutes. Heck! She doesn't even like breathing the same air as me.

"Hey Jack, we're having a bone fire outside come on." Leena says dragging me out with her.

"Leena I'm fine inside I'm okay." I whined.

"No Jack! If she doesn't wanna talk then it's okay, but at least have fun." Leena tells me and I sighed giving in.

"Jack bro, come here!" Corbyn says.

I sat down next to Corbyn having me be across from Lex. She sat there eating marshmallows and making small talk with Kylee. It was silent till Kayla spoke.

"If you don't mind me asking, how long have you and Jack dated Lex?" Everyone turned to look at her.

"Uhm... since 2013 freshman year so 3 years we could've hit 4 bu- yeah 3 years." Lex said stopping herself from going into too much detail.

"Sorry I asked, I was just curious." Kayla tells her.

"No it's fine." She smiled back.

"You guys were with each other your whole life right?" Leena questioned.

"Yeah we grew up together, our families were close. Even better we were neighbors." I grinned.

"Isla loved me, she was so happy when I was around." Lex mentions.

"Sydnie always came to you for fashion advise." I chuckled.

"Ava and me always would go out at like midnight and sit at a McDonald's drive through and eat at at the parking lot." Lex giggled.

"Remember that one night I caught you both but I forgave you cause you brought me something back." I tell her.

"When we did musicallys with Isla." Lex laughed.

"You fell off the bed during the musically and I caught you but then the lamp in my room fell." I shook my head laughing at the memory.

"Movie nights every Friday, you and me and Syd and Ava and Isla." Lex grinned.

"We'd watch movies till we all fell asleep." I tell her.

"Dang Jack your sisters love Lex." Daniel tells me.

"Oh I know sometimes I feel like they loved her more then me. You wouldn't imagine what it was like when we all hung out I was the only guy." I laughed.

"Remember Isla's birthday where she had the water balloon fight?" Lex questioned.

"I totally won that game!" I tell her.

"That was not fair you got a bucket of water when you ran out of balloons!" She laughed.

"How about junior prom?" I smiled.

"Oh my gosh." Lex blushed.

"My promposal was the best." I smirked.

"Why what he do?" Clara asked.

"I wasn't home that time so Jack thought it be the perfect time to fix my room with a bunch of balloons and flowers and-"

Lex cut herself off as tears came out of her eyes.

"I'm sorry, I'm gonna go inside." She said as she stood up.

"Lex!" Everyone called out.

"Lex..." I said standing up aswell.

She was walking faster and I tripped making me fall omg top of her and what happened next I didn't regret it at all. We kissed. It was the ones were you've been missing it your whole life. Everything stopped for a moment. Like nothing else mattered and nobody was here. But reality came back too fast.

She got up quickly and shoved me off of her. She ran a hand through her hair and let the tears slipped like she didn't care at this point. She walked inside and I let her be. Everyone tried to follow but I stopped them.

"Don't, just let her be." I tell them.

"Jack you good bro? Do I need to call Logan for the survey?" Corbyn joked.

"No I'm okay." I tell them.

"You just kissed her how are you okay?" Tanya asked.

"I didn't mean it, but I don't regret it." I tell them.

"Of course you don't, we didn't expect you to regret it." Jonah laughed.

"Jack is right though, just let her calm down. She basically was sitting her remembering all the good memories her and Jack shared and then they kissed, she needs to be alone." Clara explained.

"Let's just stay out here then." Kayla tells us and we nodded.

- lex's pov

I tried. I tried my hardest to have a normal conversation with him hopefully to make things easier when we'll be alone together durning graduation. I just couldn't though it didn't work. No matter how hard I tried I still wanted to cry at every memory me and Jack were telling everyone and to top it off that accidental kiss was just too much.

I went to my backpack and pulled out the notebook that contained song lyrics. Another one popped in my mind so I wrote it down.

"you're someone I'll never get over
it makes me feel a little bit closer to you"

Why is it easier to express emotions through songs and not in person?

- jacks pov

Everybody else was asleep at the moment leaving Lex and I wide awake. The other air mattress was blown up sitting on the floor.

"I'll take the air mattress, you can sleep on the couch." I tell her.

She just nodded and went to go lay down. She pulled the covers over her and turned around so she couldn't face me. I sighed as I laid down and did the same.

"I'm sorry Lex." No response.

"Goodnight." Nothing.

-lex's pov

"I'm sorry Lex."

I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe. If only you meant it fully.

"Goodnight." He said softly.

"Goodnight Jack." I said barely audible.

I miss you a lot...
