By morning everyone would be talking, texting, and posting about it. They'd all be feeling it too. That the world around them was changing, that Riverdale wasn't the same innocent town it had once been. That now it was a town full of shadows and secrets.
Riverdale would never be the same, not now that Jason Blossom was found with a bullet hole through his head. Not now that he was found murdered, not drowned.
And as the town once again gathered at the edge of Sweetwater River, they all knew it. They knew just how different their once small and cozy town is.
If only that was the only thing to shake the town that morning, but sadly people don't get what they want. They don't get to go home and try and cope with the fact that one of the most untouchable teens from one of the most untouchable families was murdered. No, they all got to go home with another thing to cope with.
Madelyn Jones, the comatose girl who was in the back of everyone's mind at all times, was awake. She was awake with no memory of anything that happened after the fateful boat ride that started this horror.
All eyes were on the Blossoms that morning, as they watched Cheryl brake down twice. Once, when seeing the corpse of her twin brother, and again, when overhearing Jughead Jones receive the phone call that confirmed her friends consciousness.Jughead Jones was the first to arrive at the hospital, Cheryl Blossom arriving not even ten minutes later.
Cheryl had came across Jughead talking to a nurse in front of room 149, the same room that held Manic, and immediately went up to them. Dismissing the fact that she had just interrupted them, and ignoring the Jones boy completely, she turned to the nurse and started talking.
"How is she? Is she okay?" She asked worried, her eyebrows drawn together and a slight pout on her lip. The nurse smiled timidly at her, having already heard that her twin was found dead.
"She's doing just fine, Cheryl. It's Cheryl right?" The redhead confirmed it with a small nod. The nurse placed a hand on her shoulder comfortingly.
"She's been asking for you since she woke up," the nurse informed, preparing to move aside, "but I must worn you. We aren't sure if any damage has been caused mentally yet. She refused to tell us anything before talking to you."
"Well what are you waiting for, move to the side," Cheryl demanded before brushing past the brunette nurse and entering the hospital room.
"Maddie?" Cheryl asked timidly, waking the girl who was sleeping."Cheryl?" Manic asked, her words slurring with sleep. Cheryl nodded, throwing herself at the unsuspecting girl and holding onto her tightly.
A few tears escaped as Madelyn hugged her back, but the redheaded Blossom wiped them Cheryl cried, "I was so worried, Maddie, so worried!"
"Cheryl...I feel like something happened, something really bad. But I can't remember what for the life of me," Manic stressed, sitting up fully now. Cheryl looked at Manic with pity, concerning the Jones girl.
"Manic..." Cheryl trailed off, but compel get herself to tell the truth. But her words concerned Cheryl even more. What couldn't she remember?
"I don't understand why I can't remember," Madelyn cried, a tear streaming down her cheek, "I swear to god it's on the tip of my tongue. It literally makes me want to scream, Cher. But, I just can't-" she cut herself off, an even more distraught expression coating her features.
"Jason! Where's Jason? He's okay, right?" Manic blurted out, breaking Cheryl's heart. Cheryl just stared at the girl, her eyes softening and her lips pressed together to stop herself from crying.
"Madelyn, he-" Cheryl cut herself off, chocking back a sob. It was this that tipped Manic off, it was this that confirmed the worst possibility. Manic screamed, a heart wrenching sound that echoed throughout the hospital.
"No, no, no! He can't be dead. No he can't be! Cheryl tell me it's not true, tell me it's not true!" Manic sobbed, ignoring the nurses that came rushing into the room. They immediately ran to their patient, shoving Cheryl out of the way and one of them dragging her out of the room as the rest tried to hold down the now thrashing girl.
"Get off of me! Get the fuck off of me!" She yelled, still sobbing as the nurses sedated her.
Cheryl let herself be dragged out of the room, still crying herself, but immediately ripped her arm from his grip after they exited the room.
Jughead was still waiting there, now alarmed by the fiasco that had just went down.
"What were you thinking, miss!" The male nurse scolded, but Cheryl paid him no mind. She rushed away, angrily wiping tears from her face as she shoved past Madelyn's twin.#dontkilljason
Lol.
It was fun while it lasted.
Just like Jason's life.
