Day 203- 8:52am
The morning sun gently roused me from sleep. I shifted closer to Lucifer, hugging the sheets to my form. Slowly the pain began to return. We had been too drunk our actual wedding night to uh 'consummate' our marriage. So we waited until our honeymoon. My eyes fluttered open. I looked to my wrists to see dark marks starting to form. The scratches down my back stung slightly. We had been a little rougher than usual. I could feel my swollen lip as I yawned.
"Ugh everything aches," I mumbled. I heard Lucifer sigh behind me and felt the warmth as my bruises and pain disappeared. I hummed in response and snuggled even closer to him. I knew he was awake. I was too and as comfortable as I was I wasn't getting back to sleep.
"You wanna get up?" Lucifer asked. I sighed.
"Sure. Wanna go exploring?" I ran a hand down my face. I heard the scratching sound as Lucifer nodded. I slowly sat up and stretched. I looked to Lucifer who wore a satisfied smile.
"I am so glad I get to wake up to this- to you," Lucifer smiled.
"Forever till death do us part," I replied. I grabbed Lucifer's discarded t-shirt and slipped it on my naked form. I got out bed and nearly took a step before stopping. "We've got a broken lamp here."
"Why don't you try and put it back together?" Lucifer sat up and leaned against the headboard. I looked back to him with a questioning look.
"It's barely been two days."
"It was only a few hours and you managed to turn a light on and off." Lucifer raised an eyebrow at me. "Yeah. I can tell when you're doing it. It's my grace remember."
"That makes sense," I shrugged. I took a breath and focused on the lamp. I let out the breath. "It's not working."
"You're thinking about it too hard. An angel's grace is flowing. You know that scene in those terrible vampire movies where they're trying to teach Bella to project her shield?" Lucifer swung his legs over the edge of the bed.
"Dude- twilight? Really?"
"We watched it together, Millie. Now close your eyes and think about what you want to happen." Lucifer replied. I took a breath, closed my eyes, and envisioned glowing tendrils of grace slowly placing the pieces together. "Now open your eyes."
"Woah." I opened my eyes to see the lamp reformed and the cracks seal up. In the reflection of the lamp's base I saw my eyes glowing red.
"Nicely done, my queen." Lucifer reached out and took my hand.
"Are you sure you didn't do that?" I glanced back to him as I put the lamp back on the table.
"You're the one whose eyes glowed." Lucifer stood up and kissed me. I smiled into it.
"Can you go get us some coffee? I'm gonna go take a bath." Lucifer nodded and disappeared. I sighed and stretched again. I pushed the curtains open. The sight from our little cottage was incredible. We had decided on the mountains since it was far enough away from everything to where we could be as loud as we wanted. The little town and shops weren't too far though. There were trails all through the woods. It reeked of monster hunting grounds. Thankfully there were none- we checked.
I grabbed my book and walked to the large bathroom. One wall was all windows to the mountain scape. I turned on the faucet letting the tub begin to fill as I chose from the rather unnecessarily large selection of bubble bath scents that were in the bathroom. I decided on the lavender one. I slipped into the bath and opened my book. I heard the flap of wings. I didn't glance up. I'd had grown so accustomed to the sound that I knew which angel had shown up.
