Anika's PovIt was my therapy session today, with Shivaay. I was so excited to tell him about me and Shirley. And even about my second hang out.
I was currently waiting outside the room for my turn. The last person was taking ten minutes more, which was a bit annoying cause my session had already started. But I told myself to be patient and considerate. Maybe that person needed that time more than I did.
So, when the door finally opened, a young teenager came out of it. He looked numb, his face showed no expression and it just reminded me of how cruel the world is. The poor guy must've gone through hell.
I was about to enter the room when a girl, around my age, entered it. She hugged Shivaay and he smiled. They both looked puke worthy!
“So, I'll wait for you outside and then we'll leave for lunch, right?”, she asked him. That girl looked so beautiful and hot. She could get any guy she wants.
I was hoping just not Shivaay. Because I wanted him. Apropos him, he hadn't even noticed me, which made me more mad.
“Hey”, I whispered and looked away. I didn't want to see them flirting with each other and making plans for dates.
“Anikaa”, I heard his voice and I wanted to punch him in the stomach for acknowledging my presence so late.
I looked at him, he motioned me to sit down. So, I did. That girl was still standing there. Pretty close to him. She had the body of a model. It made me jealous.
“Mali, I'll see you afterwards”, he spoke to her. So that was her name or nickname? I assumed a nickname. It was a weird one.
“Sure, you will”, she rolled her eyes at him and hugged him before leaving. Clingy much, aren't we?
Why was I behaving like a jealous, crazy girlfriend? Shivaay and me obviously weren't a thing. He was my therapist and only that. He had the right to date anyone he wanted. But why did it affect me so much?
Well, I knew I liked him but that much? I wasn't aware of the fact that I couldn't handle a really hot girl near him. It made me furious.
“So, how you feeling?”, he asked me with a huge smile on his face. Must be because of that girl.
“What do you care?”, I snapped at him. Dang it, Anika! You weren't supposed to attack him like that.
Shivaay looked at me. He kind of eyed me up and down as if he was trying to read me.
“Water?”, he asked me and I nodded. I had to calm down myself.
“So, did you do your homework?”, he asked me in a demanding voice. I nodded again.
“How was it then?”, he sounded happy about it. I pushed away my jealousy and narrated everything to him.
“And I met this hair dresser called Aditi. She's really nice and loves reading books plus baking. So, when I hung out with her, we made brownies”, I told him and right after that my stomach made some weird noise. My cheeks turned red in embarrassment while Shivaay chuckled.
“Apropos hair dresser, haven't you noticed my new hair style?”, I asked him mad about it.
“Yes, I did but I wasn't sure so I thought not to say anything. It looks good on you”, he told me and wrote something in his notebook.
“Liar”, I spatted. I had some real mood swings. Shivaay looked at me and sighed.
“Anika, you look gorgeous, no matter what hair style or clothes you're wearing”, he looked me in my eyes. I smiled.
“I want you to close your eyes. Relax your body. I'll tell you something and you'll try to imagine something related to it, okay?”, he ordered me.
Soon, I was laying on that couch, with my body all relaxed. Shivaay was sitting near me with his notebook in his hands.
“I want you to imagine it's night time. You're in your room”, Shivaay whispered.
I could see myself playing in my parents rooms. I was jumping on the sofa when my arm accidentally made mom's favorite photo frame fall.
She entered the room and looked at the picture. Her face showed sadness and all because of me. My mom took my by ears and started scolding me.
“Anika, how many times do I have to tell you to stay away from my bedroom and the things in it?”, she shouted at me. Tears threatened to fall out.
But that's when the superhero comes, right? My dad entered the room and saw me crying. He looked at me, then at the broken frame and then at mom.
“Ashu, it's just a frame. We can get a new one. Stop yelling at my baby”, he pulled me into his embrace.
“Don't be sad, my love. What do you wanna eat?”, he asked me and kissed the top of my head. Mom looked at us in disappointment and we giggled at her.
“Chocolate”, I whispered into his Dad's ears.
I'll get them for you. And he left.
“Anika”, I heard someone calling me. But I couldn't seem to open my eyes.
“Daddy, please don't go”, I screamed.
“Anika, open your eyes”, I heard someone calling me but my body felt paralyzed.
“I won't break anything Mom, please bring back Daddy'', I yelled. My hands grabbed the cushions.
Before I could've said anything else, I felt water pouring down on my whole upper body. Soon I jumped up and realized I wasn't home.
I looked at Shivaay, who seemed relieved to see me back conscious. I stood up as fast as I could and hugged Shivaay.
In that moment, I couldn't care less about anything else but that feeling of being home. I wanted to belong to someone, to somewhere. And the possibility of that someone being Shivaay, were really high.
