Shivaay's Pov
When I entered the room, I saw Anika whimpering under Daksh. The knife in her hand was against his neck. Her clothes were ripped and she had wounds.
My heart skipped a beat, seeing Anika in such a painful situation. She looked scared to death. Daksh looked at me kind of shocked. The next thing I knew was me beating to death.
Rudra joined me while Om called the police. How dare he touch my wife? Nobody had the right to touch her. I was going to kill him and that was for sure.
He looked at me wickedly. Such a sick psychopath. Once the police arrived, I told them what had happened to her. I was the eyewitness. They put him in handcuffs and left.
I looked around for Anika and found her, curled up in a corner. My body went cold, last time that happened, Anika relapsed.
I ran to her and shook her, Anika's body fell on me. She was unconscious. We took her to the hospital. The doctor said she was suffering from a concussion and the trauma made it worse.
Anika stayed unconscious for a day. When she woke up, she didn't say anything but kept staring at the wall.
I rushed to her but she looked scared when she saw me and it broke my heart. Anika looked lost. She didn't eat or sleep. All she did was stare at the wall.
For the next few days you had to inject her so that her mind got a bit peace. She only ate food one time in a day.
Anika looked lifeless again. And I wanted to kill that bastard. It took me months and months until I got her back to life and he destroyed everything within an hour.
"Anika, please eat something. For me?", I asked her. She turned her head towards me and looked at me with questionable eyes.
"Where were you?", she whispered, so low that I almost couldn't hear her.
"I'm here", I tried to reassure her. I hadn't left her side that week. Anika shook her head in disagreement, her eyes shut tight.
I caressed her hair but she wasn't calming down. Normally, this would help. Shirley entered the room. I had informed her about the incident, so that she could help me with Anika.
Nobody else from my family entered the room, because they didn't know what to say or to do so that she'll feel better.
The incident affected the whole house. Om and Ru had stopped making jokes. Dadi was quiet, mom tried avoiding me and I hadn't seen Dad since that day.
I left the room, in the hope that Shirley would be able to make her eat something. I was in the backyard, sipping on my coffee when Mali came by.
"Shivaay", she called me and I nodded.
"You're a therapist. You should know how to handle such situations", she told me and she was right.
"But not when it's my wife", I whispered. She looked at him. I was such a disappointment.
"See her as your professional client and bring her back", she ordered and squeezed my hand in support.
When I entered the room again, I saw Anika holding something tiny, when I got closer, I recognized it was a blade.
And it was placed on her arm. Anika was about to slide it down when I grabbed it and threw it away from her hands.
She looked at me with tears in her eyes. Her face looked dull. Anger took over me and I pulled her towards me. Didn't she think about me before doing this?
"What the hell, Anika", I yelled at her and a tear fell down her eyes.
"I know I don't deserve you", she kept sobbing. Her hands rubbing her face harshly.
I grabbed her hands tightly, she was looking at the floor. With one hand holding her arms, I pulled her chin up with the other.
"Say it. Let it out", I told her sternly and she gulped.
"Why would you want to stay with me? I almost got raped again", she asked me with hopelessness.
"Because, I love you, damn it", I told her, wiping away the tear on her cheeks.
"Still?", she asked me, surprised me and I smiled.
I looked at her and kissed her forehead. Pulling her into my arms, I started rubbing her arms in a satisfying manner.
"No matter what, I will always and forever love you"
Anika looked at me and reciprocated the hug tightly. As if asking me to never leave her. And I hugged her back, promising her, I wouldn't.
Because Anika losing me, wouldn't be a loss. But me losing her, would be the downfall of my whole empire.
