Anika's Pov
I was making coffee for myself when the bell rang. I opened the door only to find the Oberio's standing on our doorsteps. And behind them, their handsome son.
Shirley was already sitting in the lounge. When she saw them, she ran towards dad's room. Shivaay's mom smiled at me and I took their blessings.
After everyone settled down I left from there to make some tea. Shirley was sitting with them. I was in the kitchen when I heard everyone laughing.
It made me jealous, so I hid behind a wall and kept peeking at them. Aunty was telling about Shivaay's childhood and damn, did he look embarrassed.
I tried to giggle with my voice low, it worked. Just not for Shivaay, he looked up and his eyes found mine. I kept staring at him and that's when I smelt something burning. It was my tea!
I ran into the kitchen. After cleaning all the mess, I hoped the tea tasted well. I served it to all. After that I left again. I couldn't sit with them cause I was too shy.
“Paresh, we would like to take away someone really dare to you”, uncle spoke and took a sip from his tea.
Shivaay picked up his tea and was about to drink from it when it fell on his hand. I gasped. He excused himself and left for the bathroom.
I was in the kitchen, when someone encircled their hands around my waist. The hands felt familiar. It was him.
“Hey”, he whispered in my ear. I could feel the whole damn zoo in my stomach.
“What are you doing?”, I asked him, I could feel my whole body shivering.
“Pre-marriage-romance”, he chuckled. Everything he did was so damn hot.
I blushed, my cheeks were like on fire. He turned me around and looked at me. His hands wandering towards my cheeks. Shivaay's thumb started rubbing my cheek.
I grabbed his coat and stared at him. What was going on with me? Well, I didn't care. I placed my lips on his. He started responding back soon.
“You should wear three piece suits more often. They make you look delicious”, I smirked.
“Slow down, tigress. My families outside”, he laughed.
“I didn't make the first move”, or maybe I did.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night”, he replied sarcastically.
“Okay, now go”, and I pushed him out of the kitchen.
“I assume you're talking about my daughter”, dad replied.
“Elder daughter, Anika”, uncle smiled. I was getting married to the guy of my dreams. It felt amazing.
“The kids like each other”, Aunty looked at Shivaay and then at my father.
“So, please only return us with good news”, his dadi smiled.
“They like each other? Well, then I don't have much to say”, Dad ate the sweet in front of him. Both families started congratulating each other. Shivaay winked at me. Which didn't go unnoticed by my sister. She smirked.
After they left, Shirley and I started looking for wedding dresses. The wedding was next week, so there were a lot of arrangements to do.
“Can't believe you're gonna get married”, I looked at Dad who was sipping on his coffee, he seemed sad.
“If it makes you sad, then I won't”, I looked at him and his sadness vanished.
“Okay, that's not what I want”, he laughed.
“Dad, stop being dramatic”, Shirley shook her head.
“I'll miss you guys, so much”, I whispered to myself but they managed to hear it.
“You know, it's not like the Oberios won't let you visit us”, Shirley rolled her eyes.
“But what if they don't like me and I'm not good enough”, I whined.
“Anika, my child, you're more than enough”, Dad patted my hair and kissed my forehead.
Shirley glared at him, he chuckled and kissed her forehead too. Dad pulled us both into his embrace and I stared at him.
All my life I kept remembering the bad stuff. I spent crying over my dead parents but I always forgot that God blessed me with such an amazing new father and not everyone gets a brand new Dad who cares about you.
I even got blessed with an incredible pretty younger sister, who doesn't hate me because she'll have to share her father. I always ignored how much they both loved me, but now I wanted to return all their love.
It was my turn to show them that they meant a lot to me. I promised myself that I was going to enjoy my present and I was going to focus on my future.
“You guys know that I love you, right?”, I asked them.
“If we didn't, now we definitely do”, Shirley smiled.
“I know you do”, Dad looked at me and I smiled at him.
