Allison knew her father would never do anything to hurt her, she knew he loved her dearly. She was his only child for crying out loud. He has taken care of her all of her life.
She understood that he needed to leave his business in the right hands but does it really have to get to the point of her marrying a stranger? And then having kids with said stranger.
Getting out of bed she takes a long-needed shower, gets dressed in a simple grey Adidas sweat pants, white Adidas crop top and pink fuzzy slides.
She heads to the kitchen when she hears what seems to be a woman moaning on her way down stairs. Standing in the middle of the kitchen is none other than her father and their cook, Matilda, engaged in a passionate kiss.
Stunned at this she squeaks before quickly covering her mouth.
Ramírez knew it was only a matter of time before Allison found out about his affair with Matilda but he didn't expect it to be today. Like a deer caught in head lights, he abruptly let's go of the woman in his arms when he hears his daughter squeak.
"A-Allison, mija." He stammers. "I can explain, its not what it looks like." Ramírez panics this being the first time he does so all because his daughter caught him with Matilda. If anything, he does not like being caught off guard.
Hearing what he just said brings Matilda on the verge of tears, she thought he loved her. What did he mean it's not what it looks like after everything they'd done together, the countless nights she's spent in his bedroom giving herself to him so many times. And that's what he had to say? She felt so stupid and used.
Seeing the look on Matilda's face, Allison knew her father fucked up. She suspected that something was going on between the two of them. Her father always acted a certain type of way when he was around their cook. Always standoff-ish and nervous.
"Look, papá, what you do is none of my business. If you're with Matilda then so be it, she's always been like a mother to me anyways. I just need to talk to you. I'll be in your office waiting. Deuces". She does the peace sign with her hand then leaves.
Ramírez looks at his lover and sees her looking upset. "Qué pasa, hermosa?" (What's wrong, gorgeous?) He caresses her face with both his hands.
"Qué pasa?!" she removes his hands from her face.
"Lo que pasa es que you told Ally that kissing me is not what it looks like. Ramírez, I thought you loved me." she starts crying.
Seeing her so distressed hurts him, more so that it's his fault. He hugs her tightly to make her feel better.
"Mami, I didn't mean it like that. You know I love you mucho. I was just caught off guard that's all. I didn't expect her to walk in on us. I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you. Let me take you out tonight, hmm. Then I'll show you how much I love you afterwards. Vale?"
She nods her head in agreement feeling so much better and assured. She looks at him and kisses him.
"Sí, now let me make breakfast for Ally."
"Okay, I have to go talk to her now. I'll see you later, mami." He kisses her and smiles before going to his office to face his daughter.
Allison patiently waited for her father in his office. She couldn't contain her excitement about her father and Matilda being an item. She was good for him and she was like a mother figure to her. She just hopes that her father is treating the lady right.
She heard the door open and looked at her father who was red in the face. Was he blushing, she found this amusing so she decided to tease him a little bit.
Smiling she waited for him to take a seat.
"So... Matilda huh?" now she was smiling from ear to ear. Ramírez squirmed in his seat a little uncomfortable about the topic at hand.
"Ally, por favor, no." he says.
"Oh papá, what do you mean no? Just how long have you two been fucking around behind my back?"
Ramírez slams his fist on his desk at her question.
"Allison María González, you will watch how you talk to me. I will not be disrespected."
Allison swallows hard, maybe she went a little too far.
"Lo siento, papá. I just wanted to know how long you two have been together." (I'm sorry, dad.) She looks down and plays with her fingers.
"You said it's none of your business what I do."
Right, she totally forgot she said that.
"Very well. If you don't want to talk about it just say so. Anyways, I want to talk about last night."
"Allison, I thought I made myself pretty clear anoche. De que tu quieres hablar ahora? There is nothing to talk about. I will inform you on when you are to meet him. Now off you go." He shoos her out of his office. (...lastnight. What do you want to talk about now?)
This is not how she was expecting the conversation to go. It only angers her more that her father is not taking her feelings into consideration.
"Look papá, you were far from being clear. You told me that you'd disown me if I refuse to marry him. How can you say that? What kind of father are you? You don't care about my feelings. Its like you don't care about me at all. Like I mean nothing to you, you're worse than mum!" she shouts at her father.
"Basta!" Ramírez gets up pointing a finger at her, veins popping on his temples and neck. Anger evident on his face.
"I am nothing like your mother. I raised you, show some respect."
"Respect? How am I supposed to respect you when you're clearly giving me away to some stranger. I'm only seventeen. I'm not supposed to get married at my age".
"You're being ungrateful. You're acting like a damn brat. Getting married to Carlos is not that bad. I know him very well. And it's not like you'll have to sleep with him until later on he has a girlfriend for now. This is only for business. Think of it as a transaction."
Ramírez takes a seat and pours himself a glass of whisky. He's daughter is so stubborn sometimes. Always so difficult to deal with.
"Excuse me what?! A girlfriend? He has a fucking girlfriend?" Something in Allison went berserk upon hearing that her 'husband' has a girlfriend. She would not allow that at all.
"Yes, mija. He has a girlfriend. That way you won't feel pressured to perform wifely duties. Like I said before, it's just business".
"Oh, hell no, not on my watch." She gets up walking out of his office.
