endurance test

This is a chapter I wrote before the hurricane and flood happened in Texas and Louisiana, Florida and other countries that were effected by it. And I hope no one takes offense of any parts of this chapter and if so am truly sorry. I send my prayers out to all the survivors, victims and their families. 🙏 »»»»

Jisoo's pov~

My body was not listening to me but all I wanted to do was to go back and check on how Shayla was doing. That dream left me, feeling apprehensive about leaving her alone for a period of time. But I couldn't go as of yet because my body needed to heal as well as my mind.

Don't get me wrong I tried but was held back down by the medical staff, my father, Dong Jun and also my older sister Hana. I'm not gonna lie that dream had me scared, the contents felt so real.

When I spoke to my father afterwards about it when he  held me back from trying to not  let me do something stupid. He explained that it might have been an vision. And was amazed that I could have the sight because there were very few among the collectors.

And one of those few was my grandmother. But sadly she was killed too on that day when Anton went on his rampage along with injuring my hyung Tae Hyun. If he died that day, I wouldn't have met him. And I looked up to, respected him.

But right now I am pissed at him from what he told me earlier.....

" Jisoo !  You have to stop this craziness. Is she really worth it ? She's human and not worth almost killing yourself over. "

But at the time I couldn't tell him. And I still needed to put into words what I felt about her.

Then I felt a sudden pain in the right side of my head. And my vision became blotchy, I started to feel dizzy. But the dizziness wasn't worse than the pain in chest which cause me to fall back from the sitting position I was in.

Machines start going off as my eyes began to close as heard the medical team came rushing in the room.

I came to in what felt like a couple of hours when the head doctor told me that I've been out for two days. And they were monitoring me closely to see if my stats would stable. So I could undergo the Mul Cheoli ( water treatment ) to help me recover faster.

Some call it an endurance test for what you have to go through while doing this kind of treatment. The pain, the force on which it inflicts on your body. And most of all the dangerous delusions, that's why it's an last resort.

It is firmly, constantly said to everyone that goes on missions to never stay pass your staying point. Because if you do you're either severely sick or in some cases never recover which those few fell into madness. And others never made it back. Which makes me one of the luckier ones as the doctor explained.

Couldn't I endure it, I had to try to find out.

As they wheeled me to the room where the Mul Cheoli was set up. I started to feel like I was being led to my execution. Then I felt the hand of someone on mine.

And I looked over to see who it was. I saw the smile of my sister Hana looking at me as we entered the room.

" You're gonna be just fine, No brother of mine will be taken down so easily. "

Then two medics lifted me up, placed me in the machine. Putting an mask over my face, securing it. Closing the hatch, one took over the computer side of it and the other took over the manual to let the special liquid fill the tank.

The liquid begin to rise, I closed my eyes awaiting for what this machine would throw at me.

Hana's Pov ~

" The process has already started Abeoji. "

" That's good, we just have to wait and see the results, " our father responded.

" I believe Soo can make it through those rough patches set in the program, " Tae Hyun added.

" I hope so, " Dong Jun sighed.

" Why would you say that ? " I told him bumping his shoulder as I took a seat next to him.

" Noona ? Why are you always so rough, can't you be nice to me sometimes, " Dong Jun said poking his lip out pretending to be hurt.

" Shut it, " I told him slapping him on the arm.

" Wow ! Want you two just get a room or something. Kinda tired of seeing y'all two flirt day in and day out, " Tae Hyun said with a bored expression.

" Enough everyone ! I didn't ask everyone here for this. We have things to talk about. But one thing I want to hear from you Hana because I promised your brother I would look after her. And did you contact them yet ? " my father asked.

" Them ? Oh ! You mean The Daydream setters ? "

" Yes " my father replied.

" Okay.... she didn't accept the invitation under the gaze of being a place of work. They told me she was suspicious and found work elsewhere which wasn't a good idea since a human and a demon are after her, " I explained.

" Well she didn't have any problems with me, " Jun added.

" What ?! " everyone said at the same time.

" Oops wait ! I wasn't supposed to talk about that. "

" Tell us now !!! " we all yelled at Jun in unison.

How do you feel about the new characters ? But CL's character was kinda introduced some chapters back so now you know who that noona was 😁
