Lindsey made his wife go up into the attic first, but only so he could hold her sides to make sure she made it up there safely

Once they were up there he saw bits and pieces all scattered about everywhere, nothing in any particular order, everything covered in dust

"Baby, you shouldn't be up here with this dust!" He said staying close to her

"Watch this!" Stevie said, picking up the dress she had worn before and pulling it over her head, placing the boots on and pulling Lindsey towards the mirror

"Wait for it..." she told him, holding his hand, waiting for the woman to appear.

"Okay...?"

"Hold on, it will happen. There's a woman who looks just like me"

"Obviously Stevie, that's how mirrors work"

"Hardy-har-har" she said. "I'm being serious."

"So when is this woman who looks like you, but isn't you supposed to come out and give us a good scare?" he asked, tapping his foot on the floorboards.

She huffed. "Why won't she show herself?! She does to me all the time."

"How do you know she isn't here? Maybe she's watching you right now?"

"No, because when she is around I get a really sick and uneasy feeling in my belly"

"Morning sickness" he said.

"You don't believe me" she said sadly.

"Let's not go through this again, I'm not arguing yet again! This is ruining our relationship..."

"Just because we haven't had sex as much as we were, doesn't mean this is ruining us." She crossed her arms, and he shrugged, scoffing

"Fine, look at this then! You can't deny a photo!" She raced to the box, and grabbed the photo album, bringing it back to Lindsey and opening it

"Look, she looks exactly..." she stopped when she realised it was empty, flicking through there was absolutely nothing in there, not even the corner of a photo, this frustrating both people.

"Stop it!" he said, snapping the book closed and ripping it from her hands. "Stop it right now! I don't know what's gotten into you, but I don't like it. Take that fucking dress and those old boots off and don't come up here again!"

"But Linds..."

"But Linds, nothing! Stephanie, you're scaring me!" he said.

"Lindsey, I swear, I'm not lying."

"I know you're not. I know you truly believe you have seen all of these things and that woman is very real to you but you don't need the stress. That baby may be healthy and perfectly fine now but you, my angel, need rest." He cupped her cheek and she closed her eyes, tears falling down her cheeks. "Please don't come up here again, I'm begging you."

"Alright" she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Thank you." He kissed her lips and made his way down the stairs, her following behind. He watched her carefully, making sure she wouldn't fall. He shoved the stairs back up and latched it. "I think we should ask the land lord if he can seal this up for us."

"No, Lindsey! Don't you trust me?"

"I do"

"I won't go up, just don't seal it forever. Maybe one day when our baby is older, he or she might want an attic hideaway." Stevie offered and Lindsey looked at her for a moment, gauging her intentions.

"I promise I won't go up there!" She said, her fingers crossed behind her back

"Thank you! Stevie I love you to bits, but if this keeps happening I think you should maybe go and see someone"

"Like a shrink?" She said offended

"Just so you've got someone to talk to."

"Well, I should be able to talk to my husband, but he thinks I'm crazy..."

"I don't think you're crazy, stressed, that's all I think."

"Whatever Lindsey." She walked past him and into the living room.

He sighed, going behind her on the couch and rubbing her shoulders but as soon as she touched him, she shrieked. "It's just me, baby" He kissed the neck of her head, massaging the knots from her muscles. "We should make you that appointment. You know I wouldn't hurt you."

"I know, but I'm not going to talk to anyone but you. Maybe you're right, it's my hormones playing tricks on me. I'm sure things will settle down once I'm in my second trimester."

"You really think so?"

She looks around, "Yes"

"You're sure?"

"Yes, I know why you're so worried about me and you know how my imagination runs away with me sometimes."

"I do, I just want to stop arguing, it's not good for the baby, or for our relationship...we've been together and married for way to long to let something this silly cause us to get a divorce."

"I know, I'll do better I promise."

"You should get a hobby, I feel like this is all happening because you're a bored housewife who is craving adventure, so your mind is playing with you."

Stevie smiled overly sweetly and nodded her head "Yes dear."

"You will have plenty of things to do to fill your time once little Buck is here." he told her.

"I know I will." Once again she nodded, very irritated by him.

"Now how about some dinner? I bet you're starving! I've seen you put away a lot more recently and I'm so happy it's staring to show" He pat her belly and turned away from her to go to the kitchen. She rolled her eyes, looking down the hallway and noticing the once broken mirror was now intact.

Walking into the kitchen after Lindsey she sat down

"I didn't know you fixed the mirror."

"What mirror?"

"The one I said I broke." She said confused

"Oh, I looked at every mirror in this house and they are all intact, you must of dreamed it." He told her, busying himself with the food

"Yes, of course I must have" she smiled and sat there thinking, she loved Lindsey, but she hoped more than anything he'd see something soon that scared the absolute shit out of him.
