The next few days were quiet except for a few unexplained shrieks or growls which terrified Stevie. Vanessa had retreated into the safety of her mirror and Lindsey had gone back to work. As usual, she took her tea to the sunroom, lazily flipping through a magazine after she had made herself breakfast. The room grew chill and she shivered, pulling her robe around her a little more. She looked to the door, seeing it completely closed and locked. "Hmm" she said with a shrug, not paying it any mind.
She sat a little longer, growing frustrated that the cold did not cease. It was perfectly warm and sunny outside, there was no reason at all for it to be that uncomfortable. She got up only to feel as if she had been grabbed by the arm and pulled backward into her seat once more.
"Who's there? Josephine?" She asked to nothing, when the woman appeared in front of her
"Good girl, you remember me then."
"Of course how could I forget?" Stevie snarled
"Was killing you once not enough? I've got to do it again? Oh you're a lot bigger this time!" Stevie watched as Josephine had a murderous look in her eye as she reached for Stevie's stomach
"Don't you even dare touch her!" Stevie heard a male's voice, looking for Lindsey but seeing Fletcher instead, within seconds Josephine had vanished
"I'm so sorry about her!" He watched as Stevie stormed over to him
"Thank you...but just let me tell you that you are an absolute selfish cowardly asshole!" Stevie scolded, Fletchers eyes practically buldging from his eye sockets
"What?" he asked.
"You heard me, Mr Run-Out-When-I'm Needed, Mr I-Abandoned-My-Lover!" She would have poked him in the chest for good measure if he had a human form.
"Wait, I didn't leave anyone. I went off to war!"
"Sure, okay, but how about this time? You just left when I told you how much she loved and missed you. You just went on your little ghostly way leaving us all high and dry."
"You should do the baby and yourself a favor and calm down." He said sternly
"You have no idea what we have gone through here! Josephine in running around trying to kill me because she thinks I'm Vanessa, Lindsey finally believes but it took so long and the mirror went missing..."
"I brought it back. You're welcome. Along with all those pictures Vanessa likes so much. I did that for her. Before you go blaming me for things and calling me a coward, maybe you should listen first. Just like a woman..."
"Excuse me?! What a sexist thing to say!"
"A what?" Fletcher looked at her, even more confused than before. "You said that husband of yours believes you? Good. I can use him to get to Vanessa." He looked pensive, moving to the window to look outside.
"Oh no, you are not going to ignore me on this one! You broke her heart by vanishing! I tried to find you!"
"She broke my heart by killing herself"
"She didn't killer herself you big ape! She was pushed! Murdered by your wife!"
"What...Josephine killed her...?" He asked shocked
"Yes, but Vanessa didn't die straight away, it's why she's in so much pain all the time."
"Oh my god! I hope she can forgive me! I have to see her..."
