Chapter Twenty (look how far we've come! :D ) : Spilling Secrets (Part Two)
Status: Not edited.
It would've been better if I had just shot the damn mark.
Salvatore chuckled as he tossed a dirty blonde curl to the side and pierced me with his lilac gaze. "Fifi, why didn't you come to the dinner yesterday?"
I scowled at the wall as I replied, "Papa made me fire fifty extra shots just 'cause I missed the target that one time." Salvatore guffaw had me grimacing and my scowl dig deeper into my lips.
"Ziito!" [Shut up!] I shouted but Salvatore simply ruffled the dark mop on my head.
"Don't get so mouthy," he spoke with an infuriating smirk dancing across his lips, "You're aim is pretty bad."
"I'm better than you and you know it! Remember that time I shot Freddo Martinez in the middle of his eyebrows when papa asked me to, after he disobeyed him? He died in three seconds flat! I win!"
Salvatore shook his head. "You're not better than I am-"
"Si, mia bella bambina [yes, my baby girl] exceeds most grown men with her targeting skills. I would've made her a sniper had she not been my daughter," a familiar voice cut in and our heads snapped to the side to see our father and his entourage make their way towards us.
"Papa!" I exclaimed with glee as I raced towards him and jumped in his open arms, "Salvatore was being fesso [idiotic] !" Salvatore stuck his tongue out at me while I grinned maliciously. Papa may annoy me at times with the rigorous practice he put me through, but I was a daddy's girl through and through.
"Salvatore," my father spoke curtly and I turned to see Salvatore standing straight, the spark missing from his eyes.
"Papa," he replied just as briskly but I could detect the undertone of submission in his voice.
Papa and Slavatore had such a strange relationship. They had more of an employer-employee relationship rather than a father-son one.
"Follow Willie; we found a cop we'd like you to deal with."
Salvatore nodded but I saw the emotion in his eyes tighten. "Alive or dead?"
Papa frowned before he turned towards me with a smile. His hazel eyes bore into my own identical pair as he asked me, “What do you think, bambina?"
I looked up at him with a grin, "Definitely dead."
"That's my girl."

Serafina leaned against the balcony railing as she felt the cool air of the night gradually warm around her as dawn turned the sky's dusky hue to a lighter one. Her thoughts seemed to gravitate around the diary of her mother.
