                                                           Chapter Ten: Letting Go.

The mass of his words pressed upon Vivanna deeply and caused her mind to spin. It was almost as if the reality of her past actions and experiences finally descended upon her in the form of a tsunami of memories. She felt her legs tremble beneath her as realization finally dawned upon her. He knew.

He knows. Somebody knows.

We're goners, the voice of reason whispered in her head.

“So you see Des Channel,” concluded Leon, “You have no right, no right at all to call me a liar; especially when you yourself have lied to almost every single person around you.” Leon watched Vivanna as she pressed her eyelids shut and bent her head, her breathing was raspy and her fingers trembled as they clenched into fists.Vivanna swallowed back her compunction and instead glared at Leon who stood eyeing her, his cerulean eyes stony and cold. She felt her entire façade ebb off her system and she raised her head as her scowl carved deeper into her features.“Stop it.” growled Vivanna, her voice losing its dulcet tone that was as soft as the light of the blue moon and now akin to the sharp edges of a dagger, “Stop it!”

Leon’s eyes widened as he took in her antagonistic tone. It was difficult to comprehend that this now rather unreceptive girl before him was indeed the lovable and blithe girl that she portrayed herself to be. Her usually rich, vibrant melted dark milky chocolate brown eyes were vacant of any emotions and resembled bottomless abysses. Her rosy red lips that were usually pulled up into a grin were now twisted into a scowl. Her eyebrows were pointing downwards and her body posture that generally radiated a rather approachable aura was now circumspect and far from gracious.

He could barely identify who she was.

Or who she pretended to be.

“You have no right to call me all of that.” Vivanna snarled, distaste dripping from her voice, “When you yourself have secrets of your own.”

Leon’s eyes narrowed in her direction.

“You know no-”

“Hold it Colton,” Vivanna cut him off, “I may have secrets, hell I may not be who I act like I am at all but you don’t have any right to judge me either since you’re exactly like me. First you act like a complete douche bag but then you suddenly up and assist me. After that you 'fake' rescue me twice -yes, I was completely capable of getting out of those situations on my own and pretended not to be since I'm a pathetic lier just like you said I was- and then you even introduced me to your two best friends. Then when you realized that you were opening up to me you threw it all away. What could have been a lovely friendship is now nothing and you cut me off completely.”

“Shut th-”

“And it’s not even like you try to hide it. You make it so blatant that it can’t helped being overlooked which may sound contradictory but alas, it is true.”

Vivanna felt good.

Finally she had let all of the irksome thoughts that had dwelled in her mind and she had laid them out before the culprit of her common contemplation on the subject, himself.

Leon held her from both of her shoulders and lifted her up, a little distance from the groun as his cerulean orbs bore holes into her own eyes. “Listen you,” he sneered, “You know nothing about me.” “Oh yeah?” countered Vivanna as she fought hard to suppress the waves of trepidation that threatened to consume her, “You want to bet on that?” Don't challenge him. Stop pushing him. You know the consequences, voice of reason stated in her mind.

For once, let me do what I want to. Vivanna counter replied the voice that spoke words of warning in her head.

Leon’s grip on her shoulders tightened and Vivanna could no longer hold the anxiety that had begun to build up in her. She began to squirm in order to break free of his grasps but her efforts were to no avail. Told you so, voice of reason mocked her.

“Colton, get your hands off-”

“When I say you know nothing about me I mean it.” Growled Leon, “You may just know what my  last name is but that doesn’t mean that you know who I fucking am! Just because my bastard of a father-”

Vivanna felt herself losing her battle to the angst attacks that were surely about to begin any minute. “Colton!” she interrupted, “Let me go!” but Leon ignored her.

“-is rich and all that shit that doesn’t mean I’m like that! You don't have a damn idea as to who I am! I am far from what that son of a bitch is-”

“Colton, unhand me!”

“-so don’t you dare act like you know the reason for what I do and why I do it. Because honestly, you’re just a cowardly bitc-”

“Leon! Let. Me.GO!” Vivanna shouted as at-last her last barricades against the approaching panic attack slipped and her eyes rolled backwards, into her skull and her head lolled forward as blackness obscured her vision.
