Everything was dark and silent. I'm crazy, I told myself. What I did wasn't right, but it felt right at the time. I only did it out of love for her and hatred towards those who wronged myself and her. My right cheek stung, I tried to reach to feel my face but I couldn't, something holding my hands down. Why am I restrained? I'm not that dangerous, at least I don't feel like I am anymore.
"Why do you think you're here?" A voice broke the silence.
"Where are you? " I asked.
A bright, white light stung my eyes and blurred my vision. As my sight started to come back, I saw the man I expected to see. I saw the scarred, half red face of the father of the biggest jackass in high school. That jackass was Paul Cyradeli. The man in front of me was his father, was Shane. I had forgotten he was an officer too until he caught me, thank god someone else took me in.
"Why do you think you're here?" He repeated his question.
"We both know what I did so I don't feel like I need to say," I replied.
"You mindlessly killed several of your peers, including my son you sick freak!"
"I understand where you're coming from and I like to say I'm sorry."
Shane looked at me, and my right eye was met with his left fist.
"Listen here and listen good, I will have you put in jail for life," He threatened me.
I looked right at the ground.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you!" Shane started to sound more serious.
"Look at yourself, I said I was sorry! It had to be him or Christy and I wish I didn't have to make any of those choices but I had to make one. I'm sorry! Don't you get that?!"
"I'm getting that you're going to rot in prison for a long time."
I looked around the room, it was a small room with rust brown paint job. There was nothing in the room except for the door and a big rectangular mirror on the wall behind Shane.
"I know where we are. We're at the police station and another police officer is behind that two way mirror. Now who is it? Is it Officer Tim Ramstoke?"
That's when a police officer in his mid thirties, slightly short in height and black hair walked into the room. It was Officer Tim Ramstoke, a friend in my family, mainly with my mother because they were best friends from back in their high school days.
"Hey Officer Ramstoke," I tried to be as sincere as I could. "How've you been?"
"I've been doing pretty good, thanks for asking," Ramstoke had a serious look on his face. "Speaking of which, may I ask you some questions?"
"Sure thing, just take off these restraints, slap some handcuffs on me and we'll go to the confession room."
"You are in quite the hurry."
"I guess so sir."
"And you somehow knew the procedure."
"Yes sir, I've seen plenty of crime shows."
"Alright, well let's go."
Ramstoke loosened my restraints, I stood up, but had a little trouble due to the bullet from my encounter with Shane during the incident with Paul. I next put my hands together then Tim clapped on the handcuffs around my wrists. With him in front, we walked out of the room and down the small corridor to the confession room of the station. He led me through a door into a blank white room. In the middle, there was table with two chairs opposite of each other. On the wall next to the table, there was another mirror. I looked around and saw that there were cameras set up in three of the four corners. There was also a camera on a tripod set up next to one the chairs at the table. I was sat down in the chair opposite of the tripod. Ramstoke sat down in the other chair. He pushed a button on the camera and a red light turned on.
"Ok please state your name," Ramstoke said.
"I'm Benjamin Grey,"I replied.
"I understand you have caused quite a few deaths of some of your peers at Brestlewood High School."
"That is correct sir."
"Why did you do it?"
"I did it because I had lost my mind and I had no choice, no control."
"How so?
"I had met this girl and these guys kept bugging us and eventually I gave into Jason's words and killed them.
"Who is this Jason you're talking about?"
"He's one of the voices in my head."
"Does anybody else know about him."
"My parents and recently Christy."
"Who is this Christy?"
"Christina Greene, my girlfriend."
"How long have you known her?"
"Several months now."
"Did she know that you were killing people?"
"She does now."
"So back to the subject at hand, why did you kill those people?"
"Well it all started a couple months ago in August."
