He breathlessly chased the coyote through the woods.
She was faster than him but he kept up. Barely.
She came to a stop and shifted back.
"Kylie... You know I'm not as fast as you. That's not fair."
E said winded.
"Sorry. You got it?"
Kylie asked.
E nodded and pulled her discarded clothes from his bag. "Thanks." Kylie said and pulled on her jeans and hoodie.
"So why did you take off?"
E asked.
"I told you. I smelled something." Kylie said.
"Like what?" He asked.
"That." Kylie nodded at the dead body laying on the Nemeton. Greenberg let out a girlish scream. "What? It's just a little dead body."
"How are you so calm about this? Ew!! Ky, don't touch it?"
Eugene said squeamishly.
"Stop being such a girl. I see something. Looks like...bite marks." Kylie said.
"Werewolf?" Eugene asked.
"Not likely."
Chris said from behind her.
"Hi...Grandpa. What's up?" Kylie said turning slowly.
"Oh not much. Just looking at two idiots in the woods at 12:00 in the morning when they should be in bed."
Chris gritted.
"Crap. I didn't know it was so late. I was going home, I swear but then I got a scent and__" Chris stopped her.
"I'll take care of it in the morning. After I take you two home. Where does your mother think you are?"
Chris asked.
"Hanging with, E..At his house..." Kylie said.
"And they bought it?"
Chris asked.
"To be fair, sir, that's where we started off." Eugene said.
"Then why are you in the woods in the middle of the night?" Chris asked.
Kylie explained all the way home. Giving his ears a thorough rinsing.
After he saw her go in,
Chris peeled off.
"Night, Kylie." Malia said waiting in the dark.
"Night, mom."
Kylie answered.
"You're grounded for a week." Malia said casually.
"I know. I found a dead body." Kylie said cutely.
"What? Where?" Malia asked.
"In the woods. On the this big tree stump thing." Kylie said.
"The Nemeton?" Malia asked.
"I don't know. Maybe. I didn't ask it's name." Kylie said.
"Brush your teeth. Put on your PJs and get to bed. We'll talk in the morning." Malia said tiredly. "Raph Mateo Tate McCall stop spying and get to bed!" Malia warned and he ran upstairs.

Six hours later

"What is the problem with me me being in the woods?" Kylie asked pouring
milk on her cereal.
"What's wrong with my sixteen year old daughter in the woods by herself in the middle of the night. Naked and searching for a dead body? Absolutely nothing." Scott said sarcastically.
"I am more than capable of taking care of myself.
I wasn't alone. And how is it any different from what you and Stiles did when you were my age?" Kylie asked.
"She has a point, Scott."
Malia said.
"Who's side are you on here?" Scott asked offended.
"I'm Switzerland." Malia said.
"Kylie, you have to learn from my mistakes. You could have gotten hurt." Scott said.
"But I didn't. You act like I'm this fragile flower but I'm not.
I come from a line of powerful werewolves. Daughter of a Werecoyote and a true Alpha. I am a natural born badass! You need to stop smothering me." Kylie said.
"I am your father! It is my job to smother you. To be overbearing. To keep you alive!" Scott yelled.
"Well I haven't died after 16 years so I guess you're doing a bang up job." Kylie said sarcastically. Malia and Raph snickered. Earning a warning scowl from Scott.
"Do not take that tone with me. How can I protect you if you run off and do stupid shit to get yourself killed?"
Scott asked angrily.
"Language, Scott." Malia said.
"Sorry. But Kylie, you have to take responsibility too. You know you can't be in the woods that late." Scott said.
"It wasn't planned. I just got a scent and followed it. Sorry." Kylie said softly. I gotta go school." Kylie said.
"Okay. And straight home afterwards." Scott said.
"Going to see grandma." Kylie said and grabbed her jacket.
"Did you hear what I said?" Scott asked. Hand on hips.
"I'll call. Bye, mom. Mutt." Kylie said scratching Ralph's head. Raph rolled his eyes.
"Take your brother."
Scott said.
"Can't. Taking the bike."
Kylie said hugging her baby brother who pulled her hair.
"What bike?" Scott asked.
"Mom. You take over. I'm going to be late." Kylie said and grabbed the keys before walking out.
"What bike, Malia?" Scott asked upset. He heard it revving outside, before
taking off. "Did she just..."
"Take off on a motorcycle? Yes." Malia said.
"Where did she get a motorcycle from?"
Scott asked confused.
"Grandpa Peter. It was a gift for her sixteenth birthday. He said he would pay the insurance and everything." Raph explained.
"Where the hell was I?"
Scott asked.
"Working." Malia said.
"Heh. I need to have a chat with Peter." Scott said.
"What are you going to do? Make him take it from her?" Malia asked.
"Hell yes!" Scott answered.
"Wrong answer. Listen. No disrespect or anything but can you two argue on the way to dropping me to school? I'm going to be late too."
Raph said.
"We're not arguing but you are right. Let's get you to school." Malia said and grabbed the baby bag and her purse. Scott grabbed the baby and Raph grabbed his backpack. 'Debating' all the way to his elementary school.

Beacon Hills High School

Kylie strut in the school doors like she wasn't five minutes away from being late for the hundredth time.
"You waited for me?" Kylie asked smiling at Greenberg.
"Yeah, whatever. Not like I like you or anything."
Eugene denied.
"Of course not. That would be crazy." Kylie said sarcastically.
"You're funny. So what happened last night? Were your folks mad?" E asked.
"Mom wasn't so mad. Dad was furious. And I'm grounded. How'd your dad take it?" Kylie asked.
"He's just happy I have a friend and a social life." Eugene said.
"Now how is that fair?"
Kylie asked. Eugene laughed.
"You're not leaving it alone are you?" He asked as they walked to English Lit.
"Nope. But it's gone by now. So after school, we're paying a visit to Melissa." Kylie said.
"We?" Eugene asked scared.
"We." Kylie said with a devious smile.
How does Eugene keep letting himself get dragged into these situations?

Raph half paid attention in class as the teacher prattled on about some math theorums or whatever.
Roscoe was bored to tears because not only did Mrs Hiram have the most monotone voice on earth but his mom made him go over all that crap at home. Before he even started school.
Plus, his Adderall finished last night so his ADHD might have had a bit of a flare up.
"Wanna ditch?"
Raph whispered.
"So much." Roscoe replied.
"Mrs Hiram? Can we go to the bathroom?" Raph asked.
"I. Don't. Care." Mrs Hiram said dryly and continued her boring lesson.
The boys were left to frolic through the school.
Including the parking lot.
"So much more fun than math." Raph said. Roscoe looked down. A dead body lodged between two cars.
"He's dead." Roscoe said.
"Should we get the teacher? Right... Stupid question." Raph said. Roscoe walked away. Up to the security guard.
"What the hell are you two doing?" He asked. Roscoe's eyes glazed over and without warning let out a sharp, deafening wail.
Freaking his best friend out.
And the security guard.
And Alerting the teacher, students and principal.
"Call BH Memorial. Call their parents. Everyone back inside!" The principal ordered. There was a stampede back to the safety of the building.
That same security guard was dead five hours later.
In a dark back alley.

Beacon Hills Memorial

"Hey, grandma.
Bought you dinner." Kylie said with a cute smile.
"Thank you, sweetheart.
Your dad used to try that same stunt when he wanted something. So what do you want?" Melissa asked.
"Dang it. Fine. Did Chris tell you about the dead body?" Kylie asked.
"The one in the woods? Or the other three that was rolled in here today?" Melissa asked.
"There are more? Show it to me...please." Kylie added.
"Stay out of this one, Ky. It's too dangerous."
Melissa said. "You should be with your brother."
"Is he okay?!" Kylie asked.
"He's fine but he and Roscoe found one of the dead bodies in school." Melissa explained.
"Good. I'll check on him when I get home but right now, I need you to show me."
Kylie said urgently.
"Why is this important to you?" Melissa asked.
"Because I found the first one.
Because I'm 16 and everyone treats me like I'm six.
And no one ever tells me anything." Kylie said annoyed.
"You couldn't be more like your father if you tried.
Come with me." Melissa said and lead the way. They took the elevator down to the morgue. Eugene gripping Kylie arm the whole time.
"Just because I'm strong, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt." Kylie said pained.
"Sorry. Morgues make me uncomfortable. And your  grandma scares me." E said.
"Seek help, Greenberg." Kylie said and left it at that.
"Come here. Look at their necks." Melissa said.
"Puncture marks." Kylie said running her thumb across the wound. Kylie could hear her friend's stomach gurgling.
"That's not the freaky part.
All the of victims had the blood completely drained from their bodies."
Melissa said.
"What the hell did this? Does Chris know?" Kylie asked.
"Well if he does, he hasn't told me." Melissa said.
"I should tell my folks." Kylie said. And at that moment, Greenberg threw up on her boots before passing out.
"Let's get him upstairs." Melissa said and unfolded a wheelchair. And Kylie helped him in.
