Despite what Deacon had told them, Klaus and Vitani still hung out with Kylie.
Still wearing their version of friendship bracelets.
Making the mistake of thinking they could trust Leo to keep his trap shut.
While Klaus played with the kids and Malia in the yard, the girls "studied" upstairs.
"So this Ramirez on your Lacrosse team. Is he single?" Vitani asked hanging off the bed. "He's not too bad looking for a human. They're usually food and nothing more but he's hot." Kylie laughed.
"As far as I know. Go for it.
Um...So I've been meaning to ask you something.
A month or two ago, I was in the woods with Eugene and we found a dead body.
My grandpa showed up so we had to leave. But when I asked my grandma about the next day, she told me that all the blood had been drained from the body...Was it you guys?" Kylie asked.
"We don't drain. We take what we need. Compel. Release.
It's like fishing." Vitani said.
"Oh good. I didn't actually think it was you but I had to ask." Kylie said.
"I get it. It's cool. But our master Deacon...he's... Sloppy.
Insatiable thirst.
Makes me sick."
Vitani said disgusted.
"You're afraid of him."
Kylie said.
"You would be too if you met him." Vitani said. There was an eerie silence and awkwardness but Kylie broke it by dragging her downstairs to see what the others were up to.Later that night while the others hunted, Leo spilled every detail about what went down.
"So their friendship with her continues, hmm? I'll have to rectify it. Thank you." Deacon said thoughtfully.
"There's something else...
I know the Alpha you're looking for. This girl they've been hanging out with... She's the Alpha's daughter."
Leo said.
"And you're only now bringing this up?!" Deacon asked furiously.
"I was caught up in her friendship as well! I lost focus on the bigger picture. But my alliance is with you sir." Leo bootlicked with true skill.
"You're a good man. I'll take care of this." Fearsome words. The next night Deacon had a little chat with Scott and Malia on the front porch.
"I can't take this seriously." Scott said.
"Despite my stature, I assure you...I am a formidable foe." Deacon warned.
Malia tried not to laugh.
"So what do you want?"
Scott said directly.
"Beacon Hills on a platter." Deacon said simply.
"Hell no! Next." Scott said.
"There is no Next! That's all I want. There are places where your kind is well received. Go there. This is my town now." Deacon declared.
"Except it's not. We have friends and loved ones here. Human friends. So we're not leaving them unprotected.
No!" Scott said firmly.
"You're as stubborn as they say. Step down or this town will see a war greater than ever known." Deacon said chillingly. If it was anyone else, they'd be shaking.
"We've seen a lot of wars. Nothing scares us at this point." Scott said confidently.
"Hey, daddy. Hi mom. Aww! Is this one of Raph's little friends?" Kylie asked.
"You must be Mr McCall's daughter. You're pretty." Deacon said. Putting on his best child voice.
"Thanks." Kylie got a weird vibe. Greenberg moved closer.
"Well...I should be going. I'll ride my bike home. See ya!" With that the tiny ball of fraudulence left.
"Hmm...That didn't feel right." Kylie said.
"There's a lot not right about him." Malia said. "Go inside."
"Okay. E's staying over.
His dad has the first date in like forever so I told him he can crash here." Kylie said.
"You know Eugene is always welcomed in here. You two go inside. It's chilly." Malia said.
"Okay. Come on, Eugene." Kylie teased. The left the adults to talk.Thursday night, it all went South. Kylie and the trio stayed late to Help Eugene be better at Lacrosse.
"Hon, I get that you're trying to be a good friend or whatever but why are we here?" Vitani asked.
"Because you asked you too and you love me." Kylie said.
"Ugh! Damn it Klaus!" Greenberg said pained as he received a high speed lacrosse ball to the gut.
"Sorry. Too much force?" Klaus asked.
"Yeah." Eugene laughed.
"Hey. At least you caught it."
Klaus said. Eugene left his goalie post to chase Klaus with a lacrosse stick.
While that craziness happened Leo sneaked a text.
When it was over, Eugene and the others waited outside as Kylie showered.
An ominous smoke crept through the vents and took form right behind her. She sensed it but Deacon sunk into her exposed side before she could react. The cry of pain made them race in.
"What happened?" Vitani asked rushing to her aid.
"Something bit me!" Kylie said pained. Followed by a litany of swear words.
"Let me see." Vitani said moving Kylie's hand.
"She okay?" Eugene called.
"She got bit." Vitani said.
"I'm... I'm not healing. It should have healed by now." Kylie winced.
"Fang marks. Judging by how deep it goes...it's Deacon. Come on." Vitani helped her to her feet. She made it as far as putting on her clothes before going into a seizure.
"Kylie!" Klaus ran in. Eugene was close behind. "Is her blood supposed to be black?"
"Black blood. Black blood...
Her body is fighting off an infection!" Eugene remembered.
"Get her dad! He'll know what to do." Vitani said. Eugene was quick on the dial.
A furious and worried Scott and Malia flew down there.
Klaus and Vitani gave them the whole story in the car on the way to the hospital.
While Peter babysat the little ones at home.BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL
"Before Deaton left town for good. He gave me the book on supernatural creatures but I'll skip to the important part.
A bite to a werewolf from a Vampire is deadly. It will slowly kill her and the pain is excruciating. If you don't cure her before the next full moon...not only will she die...she'll have an invoulentary shift. She'll become coyote. Permanently." Melissa explained.
"What do we need to fix her?" Malia asked as calmly as she could manage.
"A rare species of Wolfsbane.
Black wolfsbane. In...Africa..." Melissa said regrettably.
"Then it's a good thing we have a lot of friends." Malia said and kissed her daughter's hot forehead before walking out.
"She'll be okay. She's our daughter." Scott said.
"Make the call...Scott." Malia said fearsomely.
"Look, I'm mad about this too. I don't want to lose her but a violent war is the last thing we need." Scott said.
"That is my baby dying in there! I carried her inside my belly for eight and a half months. I endured horrendous labor birthing her. I changed, held and loved her. Gave up my freedom to raise her and her brothers and don't you dare tell me war isn't what we need right now! Make the call." Malia growled and stormed off.
"Your wife is scary."
Klaus said.
"Fear is smart." Scott said.
"Mr McCall? For the record...we didn't know anything about this. We wouldn't betray Kylie or your family like that."
Vitani assured.
"I know... You're her pack." Scott smiled.
"I don't hear you making the call, Scott!" Malia yelled from the parking lot where she seethed waiting for him.
"I have a call to make. Excuse me." Scott left the two.
Two. It finally hit her.
"Where the hell is, Leo?"BHM PARKING LOT
"Scott!" Malia yelled.
"I'm making it now, woman! Geez! Stiles. Hey." Scott said.
"Hey, man. What's going on?" Stiles asked cuddling Lydia.
"A lot. Remember when we starting having more kids and got married we said we were going to retire because it's too risky now?" Scott asked.
"Yeah. What's wrong?" Stiles asked concerned.
"Vampires declared war. It's...bad. Call everyone."
Scott said.
"The pack?" Stiles asked.
"The entire pack. France, London, Mexico and
Beacon Hills." Scott said.
"It's that bad?" Stiles asked.
"They hurt Kylie. They're not walking away from this!" Malia grabbed the phone.
"I'll call everyone." Stiles said.
"Deaton is in Africa doing the DWB thing. We need black wolfsbane like yesterday.
We have one week before the full moon and my child dies and becomes a coyote forever. Make it happen." Malia hung up. "Go be with our daughter. I'll go take care of our sons."
"You need me too." Scott said.
"Not as much as she does. Go ahead. I'll walk. I need to... Think. Yes I'm sure."
"Okay. Be careful. I love you." Scott said and kissed her lips.
"Love you more." With that she turned away. Leaving.
