Malia made breakfast for her family like nothing happened.
"Strawberries, baby?" Malia asked Raph. He nodded "Okay. Have some."
"Thank you." Raph said cutely.
"You're welcome." Malia said and kissed his forehead.
"Ha!" Kylie laughed.
Malia kissed Kylie and she pouted.
"Ha!" Raph teased. Ari repeated her teasing because that's what three year olds with older siblings do.
"So, Malia. My beautiful wife...are you calm now?" Scott asked afraid.
"Yeah. Why?" Malia asked.
"No homicidal rage...No...desire for war?" Scott asked gently.
"Oh that's still happening." Malia said casually and wiped Ari's mouth.
"But the threat has passed.
She's out of the woods." Scott said.
"When those bastards bit my child and almost killed her, they declared war on our pack and I will give them what they so desire. Kylie, honey, your breakfast is getting cold."
Malia said.
"But it's war. Everyone has families now. Something to lose." Scott said.
"Which means we have something to fight for. Raph did you do your homework.?" Malia asked.
"Yes, mom." Raph said.
"Good boy. Scott, don't you want to get back at them?" Malia asked.
"Yes but I don't have the level of white hot vengeance you do." Scott said.
"You're too much of a pacifist. Which is why I am here. To fix that."
Malia said cutely.
"And you're a hot head." Scott said.
"We can point our biggest flaws all day long but that meeting is happening tonight at 9:00. Whether you like it or not." Malia said.
"Can I come too?" Kylie asked.
"Of course you can. You're old enough." Malia said.
"Sweet. My friends__ the ones who didn't betray me. Can they come too?"
Kylie asked hopefully.
"If that's what you want then...Okay.
They were there when you were sick and they proved their loyalty to Scott, so I'm willing to give them a chance." Malia sighed. Making Kylie smile.
"Really, Malia? You're going to let her go?" Scott asked.
"Yes. Kiddos! Let's roll." Malia said.
"Aye Captain!" Raph and Kylie said.
"I...Me. I am the captain." Scott said.
"Of course you are sweetie.
See you at 9:00. Love you." Malia said with a kiss and left with her kids.
Kylie took her bike and Malia drove behind her to make sure she was being safe.
Raph pouted that Kylie got to do the fun stuff late at night and they had to stay at home.
Kylie talked to her friends about the upcoming meeting.
"And your mom...she's fine with us?" Vitani asked.
"For the hundredth time, Vitani; Yes!
I talked to her and she said it's fine as long as if it's what I want." Kylie said.
"Well she just seemed furious last time." Klaus said.
"She was stressed because I was sick.
You proved your loyalty... You're good." Kylie assured.
"So does this little... Supernatural gathering open to the mortal man?" Eugene asked sarcastically.
"Yes. You're family. You didn't even have to ask." Kylie said surprised.
"Well that's sweet. See you at 9:00 then." With that, Eugene left the new trio. Leaving Kylie confused as to her friend's sudden change in attitude.Greenberg walked home to eat, shower and change. The other three killed time in the library.
They got there by 8:45.
"Grandpa!" Kylie called.
"Granddaughter!" Peter said warmly and slid the door open.
"Hi. Did anyone get here yet?"
Kylie asked as her grandfather crushed her.
"Lots of people. Isaac, Jackson, Ethan Derek... Everyone. Don't just stand in the doorway. Sit. Rescue me."
Peter said. Greenberg walked in.
"Hey, Peter." He said bypassing the three of them. Joining Derek and Issac on the couch. Stiles and Lydia made out in the kitchen.
"Are you two fighting?" Derek asked.
"No." Greenberg said simply.
"Whatever. Grandpa, can you please let my friends in?" Kylie asked.
"Hmm...Come in." Peter said looking them in the eye. They heard Scott's car outside. "Your folks are here."
"Good. Then we can start this already.
Where's my uncle Liam?" Kylie asked.
"Here!" Liam said happily as he came through the door.
Scott and Malia close behind.
"Liam!" Kylie said happily and hugged him.
"Liam. My daughter or yours?" Scott asked sarcastically.
"Ours." Liam replied.
"Who are we waiting for?"
Malia asked.
"Chris, Melissa. Their kid,
what's-her-face. and Deaton."
Isaac answered.
"Great. Shove over, Derek." Malia said and squeezed in. Kylie smiled at Eugene triggering the most epic
eye roll of all time and moved to a secluded, brooding corner.
Finding Cora.
"Hi." Greenberg said dryly. She nodded his acknowledgement.
The aforementioned missing appeared shortly after.
"Who's on snack duty?" Isaac asked.
"Why don't you tell him what happened to the food, Scott?"
Malia asked sarcastically.
"I forgot it in the kitchen." Scott admitted embarrassed.
"How could you?" Isaac asked hurt.
"Let's just start." Scott said annoyed.
"Excellent idea." Malia said. Snapping her fingers at Lydia and Stiles to join them in the main area. "A little over a week ago, a bloodsucking bastard decided to bite my child, almost killing her.
He said he wants war. That's what we'll give them." Malia said darkly.
"For the record: I am against this.
Unfortunately I can't stop her once she gets started." Scott explained.
"You tried, baby." Malia said with a little kiss. "We can't go into war unprepared. So we have to come up with a game plan."
"We pair off in groups of threes." Scott said. "That way we protect each other without getting slaughtered
at once." Scott explained.
"Pick your teams you have five minutes to do so. Go!" Malia ordered.
Jackson and Ethan picked each other and Peter.
Derek, Isaac, Cora.
Stiles, Lydia, Liam.
Klaus, Vitani and Kylie.
Chris, Melissa and Valarie.
"Me, My hubby Scott and
Doctor creeper." Malia said.
"We're missing someone." Scott said.
"It's fine. I am my team."
Greenberg said from his corner.
"You can be with us." Kylie said.
"Don't do me any favors.
Two's company. Three's a crowd. Four's just pathetic. I'm good." Greenberg said coldly.
"Okay...Moving on...Everyone has their role to play. So...Stiles, you're on kid duty. You babysit all of the younger ones. Jackson, Ethan and Peter are our interrogation unit.
Klaus and Vitani are our moles.
I'm strategic director.
Derek, Isaac and Cora, you're on recon. Chris and Deaton will be our supernatural advisors and Scott, our fearless leader will be training the wolves. That sums up everything...
We have to keep up appearances so we'll return to our daily lives."
Malia said. "As much as this is war, we have bills to pay, so..."
"Meeting adjourned. Mingle amongst yourselves." Scott said.
"I'm hungry." Isaac said.
"Your stupidity is exhausting."
Derek sighed.
"I told Theo to get it from the house." Malia said warmly. Isaac stuck his tongue out at Derek. Greenberg took a look at everyone and couldn't deal so stepped outside. Kylie followed.
"Okay. What up?" Kylie asked.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Greenberg asked.
"You've been pissy all day! If you're mad at me just say so." Kylie yelled.
"I'm mad at you." Eugene said.
"Why? What did I do?" Kylie asked.
"You come from a family of werewolves. Family friends who are wolves. A Banshee. Your new bosom buddies are vampires. How the hell does my human ass fit in to any of that?" Greenberg yelled frustrated.
"This is about you being human? Really?! Hello! Grandma. Her husband. My cousin. Stiles. Deaton... You're not alone. Get over yourself." Kylie said. He rolled his eyes.
"It's not that! It is but there's more." Eugene groaned.
"Quit beating around the bush and just tell me!" Kylie groaned.
He grabbed her arm and pulled her close. Kissing her.
"Greenberg! What the hell dude?" Kylie asked appalled.
"I love you, Kylie. Always have. But all I ever get from you is best friend. Brother. Your freaking family mascot. I love you and you're too busy with your new friends and your supernatural life to notice." Greenberg said sadly.
"G, I wasn't trying to__" Kylie started.
"Sorry interrupt this...whatever but I got a lot of food here so." Theo said holding two large bags.
"I'll help you." Kylie said and grabbed one. They took them inside to a happy pack. Eugene took the elevator down to the driveway. Once in the privacy of his car, he let out a pent up scream.
"Yo." Valerie said tapping the glass.
"Yeah." Eugene asked rolling down the glass.
"Were you seriously gonna leave without eating first?" Valerie asked.
"Kinda." Eugene said.
"Well I fought off Isaac and Liam for this so at least take it." Valerie said.
"Since you went through all the trouble, I will." Eugene took it through the window and she jumped in the passenger side.
"So that conversation was awkward." Valerie winced.
"You heard that?" Greenberg asked.
"Everyone heard it." Valerie said.
"Here's the awesome part; I kissed her." Eugene admitted.
"No! Ballsy. That explains the reaction." Valerie said.
"Yep. Why would she be happy.
I'm destined to be the fat, unathletic, human sidekick...friendzoned loser for the rest of my life." Eugene said sadly and ate his turkey wrap.
"Stop. You're not a loser." Valerie said.
"We met all of four times. How would you know?"
Eugene asked sarcastically.
"Easy, buddy. Just being supportive here." Valerie said defensively.
"Sorry...I didn't mean to bite your head off." Eugene apologized.
"It's okay. Look, Kai...being human isn't so bad. We can do pretty awesome stuff that the wolves can't do." Valerie said gently.
"Like?!" Eugene asked.
"We can't part mountain ash.
Be around wolfsbane without become violently ill. So that's a bonus.
No one hunting us." She said smiling.
"I guess." Greenberg laughed.
"I made you laugh.
Mission accomplished." Valerie said.
"I wish I could measure up to everyone else though." Greenberg said stuffing his face pepperjack cheese rolls.
"You can start by joining our team.
Just like the wolves, we're stronger in numbers." Valerie said warmly.
"If it's okay with your dad."
Eugene said.
"His idea." Valerie said.
"You think if I asked he'd let me in?"
Eugene asked. "To hunt."
"In my family, we have a tradition.
The women are the leaders.
We call the shots. I.E you come to me.
Ask." Valerie said.
"I'm done being pathetic.
I wanna be a hunter."
Eugene said determined.
"Okay. Be prepared." With that Valerie hopped out his car. No further explanation. Just a vague response.
