WAKE ME UP
CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE
❝BOY COULD YOU BE THE REAL ONE? COULD YOU REALLY BE THAT SOMEONE? CAN YOU PROMISE ME THAT JUST UNTIL THE MUSIC'S OVER, WOULD YOU HOLD MY HAND?❞♔♔♔
Rosé had almost forgotten that it was her birthday. The day before she had been furiously running around set with the other interns trying to finish up the best they can. Soon they'd be moving to a different part of Germany to finish the rest of the shoot there before moving to Puerto Rico, Norway, and Iceland. Not to mention the internship took a toll on her other day stuff such as homework, catching up on her online courses, finishing up the small details for Falling Dimensions, and finally her social life with her friends.
But she was awaken by someone shaking her shoulders and the soft call of her name. Rosé rolled onto her back — having usually sleeping on her left side or her stomach, there was no in between — and forced herself to open her eyes. She expected it to be her mother waking her up because she was running late. But it wasn't them, no, it was Tom who sat directly in front of her with a small cupcake in hand, a bent candle right in the center.
"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Rosie Girl, Happy Birthday to you!" Tom sang offkey before he presented the cupcake to his best friend. He was still dressed in his pajama bottoms, his black muscle tee, and his curly hair a mess on top of his head. Still, his smile was big and bright as he scolded her to blow out the candle faster.
Rosé rolled her eyes as she sat up and supported her back against the headboard. Tom scooted closer and held the cupcake closer to her face. He chuckled as Rosé dramatically drew her hands together, clasped tightly and her forehead resting on her knuckles as she prayed to whatever higher beings are listening. Finally, she opened her eyes and blew out the candle.
Tom threw the candle away and returned with the cupcake. Rosé muttered a thanks as she happily accepted her small birthday cake. "I'm surprised you even remember," she told him truthfully as she licked the vanilla frosting off. Tom rolled his eyes and dabbed the pad of his index finger with frosting before dotting it on her nose.
"I'm offended that you'd think that I'd ever forget about your birthday," Tom said dramatically as he wiped away a fake tear. The actor then grabbed the cupcake out of her hands and proceeded to take a bite himself. Except the fact that he forgot that his mouth was bigger than hers and that his 'bite' was about half of the cupcake.
The small Korean girl scowled as she slapped him in the arm and took her cupcake before. "You wanker! You ate my birthday cupcake," she whined as she pointed to what remained of her cupcake. There was only enough for two more bites. "Let me guess, my mum reminded you about my birthday and told you to finish the tradition for me whilst she did it for Noah at the same time."
Rosé brought the cupcake, ready to finish the last two bites when Tom swooped in and took the cupcake out of her hands with his mouth. She stared at him with widened eyes at the close proximity. Tom didn't think much of it, he clearly didn't think twice about how his upper lip almost brushed against hers or how she was holding her breath the entire time.
