Chapter 10: We'll Save You

Eizen didn't know what to expect when he regained consciousness. He thought maybe he would still have his uncontrollable hunger since he became a dragon. He expected to still be as deadly and evil, stained by the Malevolence that had been coursing through his body. He didn't expect to find a beautiful orange coloured sky from a sunset and the familiar head of Bienfu looking down at him with his beady eyes. "What the-!?" Eizen yelled, siting up fast, causing Bienfu to go flying. "BIEN!" The Normin said, flying backwards and landing on the ground at the familiar multicolored boots of a familiar Witch. "Well well well... you're finally up. Took you a while. Had a nice nap?" Magilou teased. Velvet was fast asleep with her head in her arms, leaning on one of her legs. A small smile was on her face as she dreamed. Eizen was shocked, he hadn't seen her since Laphicet became Maotelus.

Eleanor sat beside her, talking in hushed tones with Grimoire. Her spear laid on her lap. It felt refreshing seeing her all elegant while journeying with a bunch of pirates and deamons like them. She was like their little light in their group of darkness. When he looked at Magilou, he felt... annoyed and irritated. "Where are we?" Eizen asked. He was confused. It looked like they were on a mountain, so he immediately thought he was on Mt. Kilarous, but the area didn't feel hot. "Rayfalke Spiritcrest." Eleanor told him with a small smile. This got his attention. He made a quick look around the area and became frightened. "Why are we here? What happened? Tell me!" Eizen yelled at them. His outburst caused both girls to jump away from him in surprise. It also caused the female Therian to shift in her sleep, causing all three of them to freeze. Grimoire looked fearful and went back into Eleanor.

"Nobody. Make. Any. Noise." Magilou whispered. All three of them saw her shift one more time before she unmoved. All three of them released a breathe. "Miss. Magilou! I've finished the quick scan of the area! It is clear of Malevolence!" Bienfu exclaimed proudly, standing back up. All three looked at the Normin with scared looks. Bienfu looked confused. "What's wrong?" He asked. They all pointed towards Velvet. He looked and found Velvet leaning on her leg with her eyes closed. He squeaked and hid inside Magilou. They waited 10 more seconds. When they saw that the female Lord of Calamity they calmed down. Then, Velvet's eyes snapped open, looking at them with her gold gaze. "H-Hi Velvet..." Magilou said, sweat pouring down her body. Eizen and Eleanor flinched back with fear. "Magilou..." Velvet growled. Magilou cowered back and Velvet slowly got up. "I was having a nice dream..." Velvet snarled. "Please don't eat me! Witches don't taste that good! We taste like toads!" Magilou screamed, cowering away.

"What's going on over here?" Alisha asked, running towards them. Velvet gave the girl a fake smile and said "Oh nothing. Just a bad wake up call." Alisha looked confused. "What ever happened, I don't want to know. Now come on. We're about to start our trek down the mountain." Alisha informed them, turning around and jogging back to Sorey. "Who's that?" Eizen asked. "Come with us and all your questions will be answered." Said a less angry Velvet as she began her own trek towards the Shepherd. Eleanor got up to follow Velvet and Magilou summoned her larger Guardian so she could ride on it. Eizen got up and followed as well. Once they reached Sorey and Alisha, Velvet asked "So, what's our next step?" "Well," Sorey began, "we have the Earth Seraph needed to fix the bridge and then we can get across and head to Marlind."

Eizen looked confused. "Where's Marlind?" He asked. Sorey and Alisha looked at him like he was insane. "You haven't heard of Marlind before?" Alisha asked, shocked. "Well, back then, it was only Logres, but smaller civilizations were being set up and Eastgand and Midgand were starting to form into one. After that though, it's kinda hazy." He replied with one of his hands on his chin. "I can tell you what happened." Edna said, coming out from Sorey. She opened her umbrella and had it lean on her shoulder. Eizen's eyes widened in shock. "Edna! What are you doing!?" Eizen asked, worried. Edna scoffed and asked "What were you doing that you came back to me as a dragon?" Eizen just awkwardly laughed and rubbed the back of his head. "Anyways, can we make it down the mountain now? This place holds too many memories." Edna said. "Edna..." Lailah said, coming out with a smile. "My my... someone is annoyed." Mikleo said as well, appearing beside Sorey. Edna scoffed again.
