Chapter 25: Connections

When they arrived back at the Assassin's Hideout, Rose let out a mighty yawn. "I think it's time to go to bed! I had loads of fun! See you guys later!" Rose said, walking off with Dezel right behind her. "C'mon. Let me show you where we are sleeping." Sorey said to Velvet and her group. They followed the Shepherd and his Seraphs to a small little resting area where a couple of dusty looking beds were put. Magilou coughs dramatically and waves her hands in front of her nose, blowing the dust away. "This place is dustier then one of my tomes!" Magilou sputtered. "Shows how old you are." Velvet replied, sitting down on one of the beds. Magilou just gripped her chest, saying "Your words cut through me like a frozen dagger through the heart, freezing it as it cuts!" "Maybe then your jokes will get better." Eizen said with a huff, leaning back against the walls. Magilou just glared as Sorey and Mikleo laughed at the interactions. Edna just sighed as Lailah giggled.

Rokurou jumped onto one of the dusty beds, causing the dust to go flying in the air. "You know... This isn't half bad! Nice and comfy! The quilts feel warm! I give this place a hundred percent review!" he said with a grin. Eleanor laid down on a bed beside his. "You're right! The pillow feels nice and soft as well! Much better than the hard ground we used to sleep on during our journey." The girl said with a smile. "Well I'm sorry! Next time we go hunting for Shepherd Artorius after I get off a prison island, I'll pack a sleeping bag and a tent!" Velvet snapped back. Laphicet laughed at his sister. "That's all we're asking, Ms. Pigeon. Coo, coo." Magilou said, laying down on the other bed beside Rokurou's. "I will eat you." Velvet said with a dark stare. "C'mon guys. Let's go to bed." Sorey said to his Seraphs, lying in the bed on the other side of Velvet's. When his eyes closed, the voices of Velvet and her companions slowly became silent. Though it was strange. It felt like he was still awake. That is until he heard a familiar voice ask "Sorey... What do I do now?" "Alisha?" Sorey called. Sorey felt shock emit from the connection.

"Sorey!?" Alisha called out. While Sorey was seeing darkness, Alisha was talking out loud in the Church back in Hyland. The Therians and Uno could feel the power being released from her, though Dyle couldn't. He looked confused. "Alisha! It is you! Woah! This is so cool! I can communicate with you!" Sorey said, pure joy could be felt in Alisha. Though Alisha just stood there crying. "This is great! That means I can- Hey... You okay?" Sorey asked, finally feeling Alisha's sadness. "No... Sorey. I'm not. It finally happened. Bartlow is sending me to my death!" She cried out, falling to her knees. Kamoana went to comfort the girl, only to be held back by Medissa. "What do you mean?" Sorey asked, confused. "I am being sent to 'negotiate' terms of peace with Rolance. So, basically. It's a suicide mission." Alisha cried, covering her face with her hands as she sat on her knees. It was quiet over the connection. The only sound that was heard were Alisha's sobs. "Wait..." Sorey said finally after that moment of silence and tears.

"W-what?" Alisha asked, sniffling. "I'm in Rolance right now! We were going into Lastonbell tomorrow morning!" Sorey said to Alisha, his voice sounding excited and happy. This calmed Alisha considerably. That's right! Back in Marlind, Sorey had plans of going to Rolance to help purify the land there! "T-That's right! How could I forget!" Alisha said, happiness filling her being. That's when Alisha began to feel her connection with Sorey start to waver. "Seems like I'm actually about to go to sleep... See you in Rolance Alisha." Sorey said, his voice fading. "Bye Sorey." Alisha said. And like that, she felt the chord connecting her and Sorey currently snap. "Alisha?" Dyle questioned. "What happened?" Kamoana asked. "I'm going to Rolance. There, I will meet up with Sorey and the rest of our friends!" Alisha said, getting up, determination and eagerness on her face as she faced the Therians. Uno smiled. "I wish you good luck, Squire of the Shepherd. May you be safe on your travels." Alisha looked at the Therians and said "I'll take you to Elysia first and then make my way to Rolance." Medissa smiled and nodded. "Yay! We can be protected!" Kamoana exclaimed with joy. Orthie and Russ barked happily. Dyle chuckled, which turned to a violent cough. Medissa quickly helped Dyle. "C'mon. It's at least a day trip." Alisha said, motioning them to follow her.

Uno watched the group leave. He frowned when he felt a presence behind him. "And what would you like?" he questioned harshly, turning and facing the intruder. "Why did you allow her to leave?" the person questioned the Seraph. "She needs to get out of this city. It's a good thing she was sent away thanks to Bartlow. Now she won't be part of your plan any longer!" Uno told the person. The person slowly struts their way to them as the Seraph took steps back. "But you see, Lord Heldalf doesn't need her for this land to be tainted. The humans have done so their self." They told him. Uno gulped. "And besides, when I find that Trail, I will get that sword. I shall cleave the world!" the person said, cackling hard. "You mean... THAT sword!?" Uno questioned, shocked. "Correct. Asura's Blade shall be mine." The person said, turning away, their magenta hair swinging. The person left the shrine, their armored boots clanking against the marble floor of the Church. Uno glared at the woman as she left. The woman stopped by the door. "Oh. And another thing." She said, looking over shoulder at Uno. "She is not needed for war to start." Maltran said with an evil grin, leaving the shrine. When. The light of the Sun shone on her form, the shadow she cast was made from pure Malevolence.

Uno sighed as the door closed behind her. "Be safe, Sorey the Shepherd and Lady Lailah." He said, sitting at the pedestal where the Sacred Sword was just mere weeks ago.

A/N: And I have returned! *Everyone raises their pitchforks and he pales* Before you kill me, I have a perfect explanation! *Clears throat* FUCK. HIGH SCHOOL. I'll try to update the next part. It will probably take place with Alisha walking into Bors Ruin by herself, then she meets a new character I'm gonna add! (Debating the last part...) Anyways, hope you all loved this chapter!
