Chapter 14: The Ugly, Green Monster

Upon entering Marlind, they saw the citizens all healthy and bustling around the city. People were helping others get to their homes since some were still weak and some were helping bury the dead. "C'mon. Let's head to the inn. We can lay Velvet down and buy you guys some cloaks. We can just call the dogs a new breed with Heterochromia eyes." Lailah explained. Eizen nodded, still carrying Velvet bridal style. As they walked, it seemed as if everyone ignored Eizen and Velvet, but paid more attention to Medissa and Kamoana. "Whoa... who are they?" "Are they monsters?" "That woman almost looks like a snake!" "What is up with the way that little girl looks?" People whispered. Both girls started feeling self-conscious about their appearance. Dyle, to reassure them, wrapped an arm around Medissa's shoulders and kept a hand on Kamoana's shoulder.

"What are you doing!?" Hissed Medissa quietly, showing fear for the male. "You'll obtain Malevolence!" Kamoana muttered. All he did was smirk and said "So? I don't care. Both of you two are my family. I love both of you. My wife-" Dyle kissed Medissa on the cheek, causing her to be flustered, "-and my daughter." He finished, ruffling Kamoana's hair. She whined and smacked away his hand. Eizen smiled at the family, but then felt Velvet stir. "Hmm..." Velvet muttered, going closer to Eizen. He blushed a bit, but looked down at the sleeping girl in his arms. When asleep, she looked calm and had a small smile on her face. "Ce... lica... La...phi..." she mumbled. Eizen gave the sleeping girl a soft smile. Behind them, Eleanor and Magilou held a jealous look. "Of course she would get the hot Malak..." Magilou grumbled, jealousy burning within her. "Keep calm Magilou... Keep CALM..." Eleanor softly growled.

Edna and Laphicet Crowe walked side-by-side, watching their siblings. "Aw... look at them." Laphicet said with a big smile. Edna had an angry look. "She better not steal my brother away from me..." Edna hissed. Laphicet giggled at the young Seraphim. Alisha, Mikleo, Lailah and Sorey walked behind them, smiling at all of their interactions. Orthie and Russ walked beside them. Upon entering the Inn, Sorey got them three rooms. One for Medissa, Kamoana and Dyle, one for Velvet, Magilou, Eleanor, Laphicet and Eizen, and another one for himself and Alisha. Eizen laid Velvet down and turned to face an angry Eleanor and Magilou. Though their anger was minimal so no malevolence could form, but their anger was directed at Lady Calamity. "Uh... Eleanor? Magilou?" he called out. "Evil, wicked..." Eleanor insulted. "Cold as ice mistress, beautiful sorcerous..." Magilou stated. Both still glared at Velvet.

That's when the pieces clicked in his head. He bellowed a loud laugh. This got the two girls attention. "What? What's so funny?" Eleanor asked with a raised eyebrow. "You both are jealous!" Eizen retorted back. Both girls blushed in embarrassment. "Yeah! Well... You like Velvet!" Magilou snapped back. This time it was Eizen's turn to blush. "W-Whatever!" he retorted. Laphicet laughed at the three of them. "Hmm... mmm..." Velvet mumbled. Upon hearing this, everyone surrounded her bed. "Sis?" Laphicet called out in a quiet voice. "Hmm... Laphicet...?" Velvet replied, bringing her normal hand to her forehead. Laphicet smiled. "Yeah, it's me sis." He replied. "Hmm... What happened?" she asked while groaning. She carefully sat up and looked at her surroundings. She saw a flustered Eizen, an angry Magilou and Eleanor, and her little brother. "The malevolence you ate turned you insane. You started attacking Sorey, saying he was Artorius and tried to kill him." Eleanor stated.

Velvet's eyes widened upon hearing this news. "What!? Is he okay!?" Velvet asked, bringing her red, smoking hand to her hair. She still hasn't realized that her hand was slightly normal. "Yeah, but everyone was pretty shaken up." Magilou said. Velvet sighed and looked at her friends appearances. Eizen seemed to be a little calmer and her two best friends (Even if she says otherwise) were glaring at her. "Umm... You guys okay?" Velvet asked. "You..." Magilou growled, shaking. "Evil sorcerous!" Eleanor yelled at her. Velvet looked taken aback. "Huh!? What is this about!?" she questioned. "You wicked enchantress!" Magilou yelled. Velvet looked at her younger sibling for help, but he was trying not to laugh. She looked at Eizen and he looked away with a red face.
