•••-Evangeline's POV-
Payne stood over Matt breathing heavy and spitting blood from a punch to the mouth.
"You got me." Matt wheezed out as he was tied to one of the chairs along side to his body guard.
Since we knew there were cameras we took the liberty to destroy those with the gun the guard dropped. Hopefully no more guards come running in because to be quite honest, none of us could take anymore down. We were too weak to even take those two down.
"What are you doing?" Payne asked taking the gun and pointing it at Matt. Matt only looked up and scoffed, ignoring his question.
Payne rolled his eyes and pistol whipped Matt in his jaw. His head flew to the side and he shouted out. All the while the guard was still knocked out cold.
"I would highly suggest you don't ignore a question I ask." Payne spit. Matt turned his head slowly making eye contact with Payne. Payne only raised his eyebrow to him saying 'answer the question'.
"Evangeline. This is for Evangeline." He coughed out. My eyes widen as the boys glance at me then back at him.
"You know, that's not going to cut it. From all the things you've done to her, why the hell would you want her back if all she was was a burden?" Max said weakly as he stood up in defiance.
"She left me. I didn't want that so I have been searching for her and I have finally found her, with you." He growled out looking at Payne.
"You knew I wanted her back. That's why you took her, to make me mad. Not because you wanted to have her." Matt shouted. My eyes flickered over to Payne who flinched.
Is that really why he wanted me? To use me?
"Is that why, Payne?" I asked quietly.
"No, not entirely." He gritted out looking at Matt.
"What does that mean?" I questioned. Payne sighed and looked at me with a 'we'll talk later look'. Even though I wasn't happy about it, I knew our lives were at stake and it was better to shut my mouth.
"You fucked up." Matt said to Payne and looked at all of us. "You all fucked up."
"Says the one sitting in the electric chair." Sandy said.
"This is her fault you know. You all would have been fine, but you had to take her in, now look where you are. In the pits of hell." Matt laughed.
For some reason that comment struck me hard and out of instinct I walked up to him and slapped him, hard. His head cracked to the side and it stayed there as he breathed heavily.
"Go. To. Hell. Matt." I seethed and kicked his chair back causing him to tip over and crack his head on the ground. He immediately started to grumble and shout.
"Can we leave?" I muttered. The boys looked at me with awe and nodded.
"How? How can we get out of here without being caught?" Grayson asked.
