-Evangeline's POV-
I pounced on him knocking him off his feet and onto his back. He was so surprised that he jumped to his feet in no time.
I got to my feet and squared up as he launched a punch in my direction. The punch hit my arms that were protecting my face.
I retaliated by kicking him in the stomach which made him slam against the wall. His head smacked the wall making a loud noise.
"You little bitch." He said clenching his teeth and running at me. I tried to throw a punch but when I did he grabbed my arm, twisting it around, and pinning me to the wall.
I screamed out in pain as he pushed my arm so much that it felt like it could dislocate any second.
"Uncle, uncle." He taunted in my ear as he tightened his grip and pushed further.
Tears streamed down my face from pain, but I gritted my teeth and used all the strength and anger to push him off. It wasn't a very hard push but it was enough to get out from under him.
I fired back and punched his jaw then kicked his knee cap causing him to collapse to the ground.
As he was on the ground I turned to grab one of the tools but as soon as I turn around he grabbed my ankle, taking me down.
My head smacked the ground and he was on top of me in an instant with a knife above me. As he started to lower it down, tauntingly, I grabbed his wrist and used all my strength to stop it.
The knife came closer and closer to my face. It was to the point where I was scared to breath in case the tip would touch me. I started to turn my head in hopes that the closeness would diminish but it didn't help at all.
Thoughts flashed through my head of everything that has happened within the past couple months. Payne, Max, Sandy, a new life, happiness, real emotions. I have never felt so alive than I have in these past months. These things can't go away, I can't let this end me now. I have to fight for them.
I gritted my teeth and in a burst of energy I swung myself around and snatched the knife from his grip.
I pinned him to the ground with the knife at his throat within seconds.
"What did I say?" I whispered, breathing heavily. "I'm just getting started."
As I said that I brought the knife up and stabbed him in the shoulder. The knife was big enough that it stuck partially into the ground also.
He screamed out in pain as the knife stood proudly from his shoulder.
"You bitch!" He screamed trying to grab it out but I just kept drilling it deeper.
"Fuck you, Grayson." I said standing up and walking over to the wooden chair I was tied to. I picked it up and smashed it against the wall, breaking one of the legs off.
Walking back over to him, I stood above him with the wooden stick in my hand.
"Don't do this, Evangeline." Grayson said in a weak voice. My anger was so intense at the moment that I hardly heard what he had said.
"You deserve this, dickhead." I bit out and hit him in the head with the wooden stick, knocking him out cold.
I held onto the stick and ran to the door which was open from Grayson coming in. Looking both ways, I ran.
I ran and ran until I heard sirens start to go off. There wasn't too many bodyguards but when they got close I just clubbed them with my handy stick.
But as I rounded the corner I met my worst nightmare:
Matt.
He stood there by himself and with what looked like no weapons.
"Where are you running to? Payne?" He asked, smirking as he did so. "All the doors are locked unless you have a pass, my dear."
"Looks like I'll have to get a pass." I said running at him then attempting to hit him with my stick. He unfortunately had amazing instincts and grabbed my club throwing across the room.
"Nice try, Eve." He taunted. I cringed at the nickname he used to call me. Those times were never good. No moment of me being with him was okay.
"Don't call me that." I bit out getting ready to swing at him. He smirked and started to circle around me.
"What? Eve?" He asked. I ground my teeth together and swung at him but he ducked under it.
"Ooo, Eve's got a bit of badass, huh?" He mocked getting closer then backing away.
I swung many times but he dodges then every time. He never once made a swing at me, but that doesn't mean he won't.
Just as I thought, I blinked and in a matter of seconds his fist connected with my stomach knocking me back.
I coughed and gripped my already bruised stomach. My body was so weak and tired that it was hard to even stand up straight. But I did anyways because a crumbled figure would give Matt the satisfaction.
"I'm not stopping." I wheezed out. When I said this I saw someone step up from behind Matt.
It was Grayson with the knife still in his shoulder. When he stepped up beside Matt, he ripped the knife from his shoulder and let it clatter to the ground.
"Kill her." He spit. The two boys stances changed and they started to walk towards me. Tears silently streamed down my face as they got closer, but as soon as they were about 5 feet away the lights shut off completely.
The entire building was pitch black. The two boys were grumbling and cursing as they stumbled into each other.
"What the fuck." Matt gripped out. I heard tripping and stumbling from the two. I stayed in one spot and my heart started to beat faster.
The sirens stopped, the chaos settled, and for once it was dead silent. In the silence I heard the intercom turn on with a loud screech.
"Who wants to play a game?"
