I was watching a top 10 video on 10 rejected princesses and concepts. The video was really good, and had some really good ideas for role model women. There were Egyptian princesses, a Cambodian woman, and even warriors like Mulan.

But the one reason that lead to Disney rejecting these special women, was a dumb reason in itself. The reason they rejected these ideas, was because the origin stories are too weird and too weird and graphic to be "Disnefied" or changed to consider them kid friendly.

Now, don't get me wrong, some of them were too graphic to Disnefy, without keeping the original story. But some of them were definitely disnefiable, if they put more thought into it, or didn't really need disnefying to be a disney movie. So, here are the characters, the original story, and my potential spin on it.

Princess Penta

Princess Penta is known as the "handless princess", and there is a big reason why:
Princess Penta was the princess of the king. When her sister in law passed away, the king wanted to marry his sister. When Penta asked why, the king told her that she had beautiful hands that he wanted to hold.
Since Penta didn't want to marry her brother, so she told servants to cut off her hands! She became the handless princess and gave the King her hands as a prize. Once the king saw her hands, he was not happy at all. So, he ordered his servants to lock her up in a trunk and throw her into the ocean. But, she washed up on the shore of the Green King's Land, and was taken in as a servant to the queen. She served the queen for many years, until she died from a disease a few years later. The king of Green King's Land, asked Penta to marry him. Penta agreed and they got married as the new queen.
The story is very long, but it ends with a sorcerer learning of Penta's struggles, and uses his magic to give Penta her hands back.

My Version:

Princess Penta was born without hands. She had lots of trouble, but she grew up learning how to do everyday tasks without hands. Sadly, Penta grew up with an older brother, who despised her for her handless nature. Not only was she different, but she required lots more attention from their parents than he did, leading to attention conflicts. His hate stayed as they grew up, that once her brother became king, he put her on a boat and banished her out to sea. Penta may be good at taking care of herself, but she didn't know how to work a boat! Let alone drive it with no hands!
Soon, a sorcerer came down to her and made a gentle current to bring Penta to shore. After a few hours, Penta landed onto a place called Green King's Land. As she stepped out of the boat, she was greeted by a citizen, who saw her handless nature as a struggle and brought her up to the queen. The queen treated her well and Penta became her servant. After many years of that, the Queen let her marry to her oldest son. Penta agreed and they started the wedding plans.
On the day before the wedding day, The prince came up to Penta and said this:
"If you were to have a ring, where would I put it? On your wrist?". Penta had never thought of that before! She always used to put her rings on a string around her neck, but this was her wedding day! Rings on fingers was tradition! However, Penta suggested the necklace idea to the prince, and he nodded in agreement.
On their wedding day, Penta used her wrists to put the ring on her fiancé's finger. Then, her fiancé took a silver string with a beautiful gold ruby ring, and tied it around Penta's neck. When they kissed, a sorcerer created magic around them, and gave Penta hands for the first time! Penta was so happy to finally have 4 fingers and a thumb to do things with.

As a way for her husband to acknowledge her hands, he untied the ring necklace, took the ring off of it's string, and put it around her finger.

THE END!
