Austin parks my car in the parking lot near the clock tower. He gets out, walks over to the passengers side and opens the door.
"Are you sure you want to come here?" he asks quietly.
"I'm sure." I nod my head, stepping out of the car.
Austin and I walk over to the clock tower in silence. Once we get close to it, we can hear Abi and Grace calling our names.
"Allison! It's about time you're back!" Abi yells, running towards me, Grace following her.
"We've been waiting for over a hour! What took you so long?" Grace then asks once she makes her way over to us. Sam and Jake then notices us, making their way over here too.
"Um, nothing." I say assuredly.
I look over at Austin, who still looks a little worried.
"You okay?" I ask him, starting to get worried about him.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What's the plans for today?" he says, changing the subject.
"We were thinking about going inside the clock tower!" Sam says over-excitedly, nearly jumping out if his pants.
"No, there is no way we are going in there!" Austin replies, sounding scared.
"What? Is Austin afraid of some ghost?" Jake mocks.
Garret died before we met Sam, Jake, Grace, and Abi. They heard about the clock tower incident when it happened, but they don't know that Austin and I were there and that Garret was Austins step-brother.
"No, but I'm not going in and neither is Allison!" Austin yells.
I walk up behind Austin, put my hand on his shoulder and whisper into his ear.
"Austin, it's alright, please calm down. We won't go in." I say calmly.
He lets out a breath of air, and slowly nods his head.
"Alright."
Jake, Sam, Grace, and Abi give us a strange look, but they quickly brush it off then heads towards the tower.
"Be safe!" I call out towards them as they get closer and closer to the tower.
I didn't want them to go in, but I know how they are. They're a tough crowd. You can't stop them from doing anything. So I didn't even try convincing them to not go in.
Austin and I walk over to a tree and sit down under it. We both pull our phones out and start scrolling through social media. Boring, I know.
"Hey, I'll be right back." I say to Austin after a while.
"Where are you going?" he asks, looking up at me as I get up.
"Tropical smoothie, I'm getting hungry and it's the only food place in the plaza, do you want anything?" I ask, brushing the dirt off my pants.
"I'm coming with you. It's cold out here. We can eat inside."
Austin then gets up and we both head towards tropical smoothie.
I'm so sorry I haven't updated it like forever! I started school again and I forgot about wattpad.
