"Henry, what on earth are we doing out here?" I asked, lifting my dress as I stepped over bushes and twigs so my dress wouldn't rip. I had a large smile on my face as I followed the love of my life blindly into the woods.

"It's a surprise, Abigail," the cheeky grin he sent my way made my heart flutter.

"Surely you can at least give me a hint," he helped me step over a lot and held me by my waist, his forehead gently touching mine.

"If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it?" He whispered into my ear, sending shivers down my spine. I leaned into him a bit more, my hands on his chest.

We stood there for a while, breathing the same air as we stared into each other's eyes before Henry snapped out of it.

"Come, my dear. We do not wish to be late." I giggled and grabbed his outstretched hand. His large hand swallowed my own, drowning it in warmth.

"Oh Henry, what is there to be late for in the middle of the woods?" I asked, subtly probing for more information.

His knowing look told me I wasn't subtle enough.

We continued through the foliage until the sun began to sink and my heels began to hurt.

"Don't worry, Abigail. We'll be there soon."

"That's what you said fifteen minutes ago," I couldn't help but huff as I leaned against him in an attempt to relieve my aching feet.

As I pouted at my toes I could sense Henry getting more and more excited.

"Wait right here, please?" Henry asked when he saw my hesitant look. In the end I conceded and he quickly darted into the brush.

When he returned he had a goofy smile and a few twigs sticking out of his hair. I just melted at the sight.

"It's almost time, come on!" I only grinned in response, hugging his arm as he lead me down a narrow path.

"Hold on, put this on," he handed me a silk handkerchief, obviously meant to be a blind fold.

Doing as he said, I put all my faith in him.

With my sight gone, all my other senses seemed magnified. I could hear the birds singing above us, the branches moving in the wind, the bushes shuffling as some creature passed by. The forest smelled so clean and fresh and Henry's hand in mine felt a thousand times more warm and comforting.

Henry stopped ahead of me. We had left the bushes and trees behind us, having ended up in a clearing of sorts.

My hand clenched in his own.

"Are you ready?"

I only nodded, my excitement beginning to bubble up inside of me.

I could tell Henry was behind me, his hands gentle as he swiftly undid the knot.

As the blind fold fell away I was greeted with an unimaginable sight.

"Oh!" My hand drifted to my mouth as tears welled in my eyes. This was beautiful. My heart felt overwhelmed.

We were indeed in a small clearing, on a small cliff overlooking a silver stream. The liquid flowed from a rock and carved a pattern in the earth. The trees held orbs that seemed to contain the sun.

The sun was setting which casted a golden glow across everything. A warm hand pulled me into Henry by my waist. I was still to awed to say anything.

The grass by the bank appeared to be a dark green-blue, making it seem all the more magical. And flowers I'd never seen before scattered the meadow.

"Just wait a moment longer, love."

I nodded again and sank to my knees. The air smelled like honeydew melon and the grass was silky smooth to the touch.

I ghosted my fingers over the petal of a foreign flower, the violet bud quickly curled into itself, hiding it's brilliant colours and unique markings.

Twilight had come and this amazing sight became all the more extraordinary. From the centre of the flowers blooms of light lifted into the darkening world.

I sat, awestruck with Henry's hand resting on my shoulders.

The lights flew down to the stream, brushing against the water and back up again, leaving luminescent trails behind them. A few flittered towards the trees, dancing around the glowing fruits as though playing a game of hide and seek.

"Henry..." I had no words to describe how I felt.

A light flickered and drifted closer to me. I watched it land in my palm, toning the glimmer down a bit until I could see it more clearly.

Fairies! They were real!

The little fairly fluttered it's wings at me, looking into my eyes before flying off to it's friends once more.

I couldn't keep from launching myself into Henry's arms, smiling like a madwoman.

How had he found this?

How was this real?

Nothing could have wiped the dumb grin from my face. He just grinned back at me as the fairies danced around us.
