*Fantasy/Historical*

She walked up the staircase, an exotic beast at her side. Her eyes never left his, she watched him with an unwavering gaze even when the thousand other spectators in the arena were all watching her.

She stopped just in front of his booth, a few feet below him.

He looked down on her and yet she still seemed to be the one in power to everyone present.

Even he saw the fire in her eyes. Her voice was regal and refined when she spoke, "I am done, Permetheous. I will not stand by as you tear this empire apart."

She turned and gestured to the two men in the middle of the clearing. One was on his knees, near to no armor guarding his flesh while the other stood over him, protected by metal and leather with the sharpest of blades in his grasp.

"This is not what I intended when I stepped down from my position. You will be the death of Korona. Kato will smite you and build up from the rubble you have caused. When that happens, I will not protect you." She rested a hand on her beast's head, closing its eyes as it moved into her embrace.

She watched her beast for a short while, complete silence still present in the arena, allowing her strong voice to carry well.

"Prepare yourself, Permetheous, a day is coming where you will be faced with what you have done. There is nothing you can do to prevent that," she tickled under her beast's chin, loud purring emitted from the large creature, "but there is a way you can lessen your punishment."

She turned a hard glare to Permetheous high in his booth.

"End this unruly hobby of yours before your downfall ruins you sooner than it must."

With that she turned away from the booth and made her way to the exit. She stopped when she reached the opening, turning back to the men in the middle.

"You there, on the ground. What is your name?" She asked.

The man stuttered, obviously surprised at her acknowledgment.

"Baron, M-M'lady." He announced, bowing slightly as he stood.

"Baron," she tried his name out, "come with me, child. There is much more for you than the life of an unknowing slave."

The man limped his way to her and her beast cautiously.

When he was close she turned away. Without turning around she spoke once more, "Mantai is very obedient," she stroked her precious beast's head at her side, "he wouldn't hurt a soul. He is my flesh and blood in a sense."

She gave Permetheous one last look.

"Of course that does not mean he would disobey if I ask him to."

Permetheous was as pale as a sheet as she left the arena, the man following in her footsteps.
